12 pages of unread messages? Isn't that a little excessive?

Everything else is working great for me, another question I need to ask - is there any reason for disabling the quick reply until you click on someones post?

ok, another issue regarding new posts.

go to the list of new posts, lets say there are 20 threads with new posts since last time. reply to 2 of them, now go back to new posts, now there are only 18 threads with new posts.

Logging in is proving problematic - even after getting a 'thnak you for logging in' message. I'm going to back to the front page

If you actually go into the forums there is no problem though, it seems to be a front page issue only.

go to the list of new posts, lets say there are 20 threads with new posts since last time. reply to 2 of them, now go back to new posts, now there are only 18 threads with new posts.
Thats working at it should, there are no new posts, you wrote the last one, so you know what it is... no need for it to show up again.

When I read the new posts they don't diminish. What I mean is that they are still in bold text so I don't know what I've read.

you will find, that the new read method actually removes posts read, untill there is a new post created. so, say you have 10 posts, you read the first, go back to new posts, there will be 9 left, untill you have read them all.

are the login cookies timing out? even though I tick the "remember me" thing, if I come back after a while I have to log back in.

Not really. Under the old version I used to log in, click new posts and they would be displayed. After I had read a post I then backpaged. The posts I had read would be in a thinner text so I knew what i had opened and what I hadn't. When I open new posts now and then backpage they are still there in the list with nothing to differentiate them from the other new posts I haven't read. If I then click on new posts on the menu bar the post I have opened does go away but it seems pretty cumbersome to have to do that all the time to remove them. If I had a list of 50 new posts to read I would like a quick easy way to let me know what I have read when I go through the list.

Back paging is not the same as refreshing
I just read this post clicked on new posts and this thread was not showing
Try clicking on NEW POSTS again after you have read a thread it will not show in new posts

I know the difference between backpaging and refreshing. It's just that the old system seemed to me to be pretty good. it worked on the same basis as other forums I belong to. Anyway, I'm sure I'll et use to it. We can't fight change now can we.

CVR4 Chat no longer appears by the who's online and newest member boxes at the bottom of the forum index page.
And the birthday list is not there - is that because there are no birthdays today? Or no birthdays for users that have been active in the last 28 days?

prolly cos there are no birthdays for active people - i didnt see the point of displaying birthdays for inactive people..

Yes i am .. Have had it everyday since the upgrade ..

Another prob i have just come accross is i received an e-mail saying i had a private message waiting for me from PSBarham(10 mins ago).
When i logged on there where no new messages and all the messages that are there i have previously received notification of. :thinking:
Also PSBarham has not been on site since just after 10pm last night ?/help

First time this has happened though and it may be a 1 off.

Just a small observation in the members cars/garage area - the box for the description of the Most recent / Last modified etc is quite big, but the characters appears to be limited to about 2/3rds of the way across, clipping peoples descriptions.
