Does anyone know a good place I can get a set of mags reconditioned. Have bought a set of 18 inch BBS RX's but they are badly scratched. I was thinking of getting them powder coated. Who in either Wellington or Auckland can do this?

Check the yellow pages under "powder coaters". You should be looking at approx $40-50 per rim depending on how much work they have to do (sand blasting etc).

Yeah, I figured they're plenty of places who can do this. Was more after a personal recommendation.

What sought of damage can it do? I know it's a bit tricky with magnesium but I wasn't aware alloy could be damaged. Powdercoating is hugely popular in the motorbike fraternity and sportbike rims come under a fair bit of pressure and I've never heard of one coming apart?

nothing to worry about i guess otherwise it'll be illegal, it uses a process that heats the wheel past its temperature rating
