I want to change my oils as I last changed them more than six months ago. People are saying a lot of good things about amsoil on here. What amsoil oils would you recommend for my gearbox, transfer box, rear diff and AYC and of course the engine? How much gearbox oil will I need? It is a 5 speed manual by the way. Any difference in the amount of transfer box fluid either?

Hi Cezco:

This thread will give you an idea - though my LEgnum is an auto, so you'll need less ATF. THe engine oil and gear lubes will do you proud. You'll also need a spot of Manual transmission fluid. The VR-4 needs GL-4. Be wary of a GL-5 spec oil. Wirdy (another member) had a GL-5 and it made his syncro rings slip too much.

Amsoil is the way to go - Hell, I've even bought some for the Golf! It really does make a hell of a difference to the way the car behaves - And my VR-4 has been treated to oil changes every 3,000 miles previously! ZERO tapping, and it's so much 'easier' from cold.
