Where's my ATF filter?

I don't have an ATF filter on my Legnum:thinking:

Just in the process of changing the ATF and I took the air filter out to change the filter and whoops no filter.

The only reason for this that I can think of is that my gearbox was replaced by Mitsubishi last year for a new one and that they have now done away with an external filter:inquisiti

I think the filter was ditched at some point. Don't know when. Mine has one! I think Kieran has mentioned that at some point?

mine dont have one either,

i think they changed to filterless on later modles, mines one the last pre-facelifts (98)

That is interesting Gly because Nick's car is a facelift. It might have something to do with 5 speed vs 4 speed as well as age. What year is your car Rally?

according to BNT (auto shop) mines supposed to have the filter??
but they think it could be an internal one??

or what i thinks happened it that it was changed in japland...
coz my atf when i first got the car was extremely clean for a car that had done 100,000km

Yeah, I'm sure it was ditched on the facelifts - at some point..... Not sure when and why.... Wonder if it just relies on the internal strainer now then, or if there's an element cartridge in the sump?:inquisiti

Had a new gearbox under warranty last year which is why I was questioning it being there or not:thinking: Figured out that this must be the reason why it's not there:happy:
