From what I understand, the youth being held by the Bristol TN police was revving the car in the showroom with his foot on the clutch, and he dumped it at or near redline.

Poor car but LMAO!!! :D what a twat!
Or as Harry Enfield would say "Now I don't believe you wanted to do that did you? eh? eh? eh?" :D

As per some of the comments on the other forum, how did the person manage to start the car? why was it started in a showroom? why was it in gear? handbrake could have been on or off I guess since it's a very powerful car.

LOL.. I guess the joy rider didn't understand the concept of the film 'Gone in 60 Seconds' otherwise he may have chosen a car that wasn't opposite a pole.

Having read the thread on the other forum, the question begs to be asked whether the 'offender' actually even held a valid licence ?

Even the dodgiest driver would [I hope] take a car out of gear before starting it, rather than hold in the clutch [especially in an enclosed area !]

:Ponder: Perhaps he was trying to pinch it?

Variava's in Nottingham had one of their EVO VIIIs pinched one night in that way INSERT INTO post VALUES (though the thief did avoid the nearby lamp posts).... A couple of days before they were going to fit the Tracker to it! Hmmmmm!

I can belive it! A dealer i know had something like this happen on his yard a number of years ago. Not quite as severe as this but along the same kind of lines.
