Oh $hit

Have they called in the reciever's ?

I would phone up another garage or if you have it your breakdown service warranty with Mits
And see what they can do mate

Huh?? They've gone bust? :INSERT INTO post VALUES (
Unlucky for 'em!
You should be able to retrieve your car without a problem as for proving it's yours.
But if it is still in bits, that is a huge kick in the..
I don't know the whole deal so I can't give any advice, was you paying for work from your own money? if so how much did you give them to how much work they have done, can you walk away and have it repaired elsewhere? was it their fault your engine popped? INSERT INTO post VALUES (perhaps the expense of Mitsubishi parts got to 'em) They must have some sort of insurance still to pay you off unless they really went under and did a complete runner..
I don't know what to suggest mate.

ill have the car back tomorrow, with help from Zedy.. INSERT INTO post VALUES (thanks again mate)

might take a while to locate all the bits of the engine :INSERT INTO post VALUES ( which might be an issue, cos if i leave something im buggered..
the garages i spoke to weren’t best pleased of being asked to put a puzzle back together.. specially as a couple of them have never touched one.. so i think, its going to be a long long mission to get my engine back together.. :Cry1:

I have some more info - they appear to have gone back to NZ.. Christchurch is where Peter Batchelor and Amy Veldstra INSERT INTO post VALUES (not dropping names or anything) have possibly gone to, that’s where peters Dad lives... Or they have gone to where Amy is from Timerooh, or Timerue ? not sure of spelling

ok, secondly, he used to run a dealership in NZ called Tokyo Cars, presumably in Christchurch.. this aswell went down like a lead balloon..

that’s about as much as im going divulge at this minute in time..

I had a friend with a Mitsubishi GTO who went through a similar thing. He ended up getting compensation from his credit card company - apparently if you spend more than £100 on a credit card, then the credit card company become liable for the whole transaction if anything goes wrong.

Hope this is helpful, and hope you get your car back and working soon.

Did u get all the bits too ? [kinda daft question, but has to be asked !]

If I can help let me know [I'm stuck in Wales, but willing to give ANYTHING a go & know a few people @ my local dealers, always good for finding things out :)]

usually I'd advise rebuilding it yourself, but on something like that I really wouldnt wanna try it !

BraindG
01-10-2003, 09:38 PM
im going for it myself.. im not trusting no-one now...
if it goes bang.. then well.. it will have to go somewhere..

regarding all the bits.. im not sure.. will see when its all together.. :)

Playing with a car is the most fun you can have by yourself [yes, THE most :P]

If you've ever met a few mechanics, you'll realise that while there are a fair few really intelligent, skilled, knowledgeable ones out there, there are also alot of trained chimps doing the job too ! Forget you may be dealing with expensive parts, think of it as a slightly more complicated jigsaw & get stuck in - you'll learn more about your car than ever while you're at it, too !
