Anyone know where I can get some decent performance rear discs?

I would quite like some Black Diamond ones, but have been quoted £530 and 3 months?????

Help!

Are the rears a special fitment or are they common to another model?

Also I would quite like the fronts to match!

Yeap the back brakes only give you 30% of braking anyway ?

Apprantly EVO calipers and Discs fit VR4's
INSERT INTO post VALUES (but might be worth checking first :) )

I only wanted to do the backs so they looked nice!!!!! Having shiny rust free black discs is preferable to the rust mess I have now!

errrrrr........the pads might not like that very much!!!!!! :p

The black diamond discs are black, even on the braking surface, also they are grooved and drilled. Look mean as!

Yep I do!!!! ;)

I just struggle with the price difference, £160 for the fronts and ahem £530 for the rears!

My dealer quoted the rears as cheaper???!!!!!!???????

After hours of research and some measuring on my car, it appears that the rears are the same as the EVO 6

284mm diameter
60mm total height
20mm thickness

Can anyone confirm INSERT INTO post VALUES (or deny) this?

Evo VI rears are 302mm. They will fit the VR-4 but you need to burr off the edges of the disc backplate so it doesn't rub on the discs. Evo VI rear 2-pot Brembos go straight on.

Black Diammond discs do look very smart and I was also considering them a while back, until I did a little serach and found out that nice black coating disappears in no time leaving you with nice shiny silver coloured discs like any other make before they rust like hell.
Read some info on the MLR forum INSERT INTO post VALUES (EVO's) and they reackon also braking power isn't as good until the black coating has gone.

Dave,

I took the info straight from a Ralliart catalogue. The last paragraph in your post INSERT INTO post VALUES (*EVO V, VI, VII GSR & RS-2 1996 - on) is close, showing 320x32mm fronts with 4-pot calipers and 300x22mm rears, also with 4-pot calipers though  . The rear Brembos on these cars have 2-pot calipers.
