Hey guys,

Just spotted a Carbon Bonnet on Trademe and I'm in the middle of negotiating deals with the seller.

It would be much appreciated if I didn't have to compete with any ClubVR4 members, hiking up the price unecessarily. I came to a mutual agreement with Kenneth in regards to the TEIN suspension that was listed on Trademe -I hope we can all be civilised about this aswell.

The link is here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Mitsubishi/Exterior/auction-50352071.htm

Thanks for understanding guys.

True **** that's pretty cheap. Where from and was it new or second hand? If you don't mind me asking...

And you said something about the quality?

its from a place in hamiliton,

there not as good looking as the $1200 one booyaa has....

the cheap version your looking at have a much pointeir vent and sits fairly look...

think prefacelift bonnet with slightlty lipped vent...
and i think the tread that holds the screws for the covers on shadys are wasted after only being removed once

$500 1 month old is pretty good deal though right?

I'm picking it up on Saturday :D

yeh its ok... as long as its not warped...

make sure you put some heat sheiding on the underside of it or this will eventually happen as its fibreglass with a carbon overlay.

yeah thats pretty cheap....the reason my screws f*cked out is cos i pulled it in and out a couple of times and couldnt be assed lining them up properly so took a drill to it lol...

but yeah mine was brand new...prolly from the same dude off trademe

I've just done some research, it seems as if that I3ooyah's bonnet is an Evo 5 style, whereas Shady's and my soon to be bonnet is of Evo 7 style.

Notice the smaller vent placement and main vent sizes.

a lil bit different to the evo 7 one cos they dont have that lil rise in the hood in front of the vent, theirs is plain flat...

I actually like the bump as opposed to the original Evo 7 bonnet being completely flat.

Yes lol that is the old bonnet which I wrapped with a big industrial roll of "glad wrap" haha.

Drove all the way to Dargaville, left Auckland at 4am. Drove all the way back with the bonnet stuck to the roof. Saw two accidents on the way back :| I got videos of them if anyone is keen to see.

1st is of a truck crashing into the side of a cliff.
2nd is of two old ladies in a brand new Subaru Legacy B4 hitting a cow that walks onto the road.

Quite an eventful trip :)

I'm keen for the videos :)

I would have left the old one at home rather than carry it all the way up. It does look great though! All the little black bits look great in combination with the silver.
