Lovely looking wagon there m8, I know you are reluctant to sell but I hope that you get what you want for it and that it goes to a good home...

I would have bought it if it wasn't for the high milage... :(

I wouldn't worry too much about the miles on these cars.... They can take it!:scholar:

...and a Mitsi stamp every 4,500 - more often 4,000!

Imagine a test drive in Germany :afro:

But with 105.000 miles it should have gotten it's share of road abuse (what I mean is all these small rocks that, stonechips?)
Even with full mitsu service the different parts under the hood must have been worn, how long will the transmission hold for example? how long before the turbos die? etc.
My car that is 9 years older has got approximately the same milage.. would like to have a car in great condition for a long ownership and that is worth spending a lot of money on. Would not want it to break down a year later

There are quite a few VR4's with higher mileage than this that are still going strong. Parts do ware out, but this is true for any car of any age, 2 years old or 10. Adam has clearly looked after this car, and I think it's a bobby bargain.

Good luck with the sale mate, hope you get something with the same :d factor next time.

Thanks... thinking something old school at the 'mo... Karmann Golf Cabrio (pennies over here) or some kind of GTi?

I was looking at Mk2 Golfs last week... How about something like THIS (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-MK2-GOLF-GTI-2OV-TURBO-350BHP_W0QQitemZ4621447242QQcategoryZ9873QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem) one? :pimp2:

Have you had any local interest in your car? (If you have advertised it there) Does the leggie turn any heads there?

One other VR4 in Germany that I know about

http://www.autoscout24.de/home/index/detail.asp?ts=7057860&id=fsnqkygoqqi&source=as24_inseratsg_detail_ueberschrift

Get's some looks... but I think it would be nigh on impossible to register and afford to run here (taxes etc.)

I checked it out and a 911 is actually cheaper to Tax and insure /help

Why is it so much to run and register?

Looks like a UK sale then...:inquisiti

Can't believe the price of the pre facelift leggie for sale in that ad!!

The German taxation structure is based on emissions, the car must also undergo a TUV inspection, much more rigorous than an MOT.

The inspector can demand that anything not to his liking be modified or replaced with euro-spec parts... for example exhaust, mirrors, lights, seatbelts etc. etc. etc.

Concensus is generally that it's not worth it.

Emissions testing is done at full throttle, and includes hydrocarbons, not just Oxides, and Monoxides...

Tax is then calculated according to the umweltschade (or environmental damage) that the car does.

As for the price of the pre-facelift, I almost called to see if they wanted to buy mine /pan

you should call them up and ask them if they want to buy your car, even if they offer you less than the prefacelift is being sold for, you are going to get a whole lot more than what you will any other way :)

Agreed! They should give you more than good money for yours if that car for sale is
anything to go by!

I might be interested in the car but when will it be back in the UK? I don't buy anything without test driving it first

Thanks for the interest... I understand exactly what you mean about a test drive, I passed on a Karmann Cabrio last weekend 'cos I couldn't drive it.

I can bring the car back the week before Good Friday, (Tuesday - Thursday) but I need to be back in Germany for Easter.

PM or call me (Number PM'ed) if you've got any questions at all...

Thanks,

Okay, I have an interim replacement...

German reg. and LHD (look away now if you are in any way of a sensitive disposition)

I bought a Corolla... (it's the Bier I tell you) ...there's a picture for the really sick.

Anyway, as such the car will return to the UK on the 25th of May, and be staying, if anyone would like a look I will be around too until the 31st.

But seriously, this fulfils my 'new German motorist' spec.

Cost, about 2000euro (for a '99) after some horse trading about those wretched alloys and the state of the brakes, from a Main Dealer.

Insurance is just a couple of hundred euro (that's me - Mr NoDrivingHistory, so 140% weighting) tax is a similar amount.

Poverty spec motoring for the newly relocated... but so

Now, roll up, roll up, one great car for sale (not the Corolla)
