i would get spacers dude (or new wheels :P )

if you get something hard (or even not so hard) try to wedge in there youre going to damage something.

but then what if you have a 10mm gap and you have an 11mm stone try and jump in there?

obviously there is a greater chance to have a 2mm or 3mm stone fly up, but I don't think it would be that bad :)

yeah, i know... its a bit of a bugger really. 5mm spacers might be easy enough to get though.

Sorry to be negative straight up, should have remembered to say that they still look cool :)

But there's less of a chance of a 1mm stone flicking up! (even then, I don't think it'll fit) :2thumbsup

looking good, who'd you end up getting the bolts from??

Iv got these lying around if you want to give them a go, 7mm. Just cheap trademe jobs, i had on the rear of the STR. Probably not worthy of your shiney wheels and brakes. but hey, I'll bring them to the workshop. Only got 2 tho...

Reckon it looks good as is, might get hot tho:pimp2:

They managed to source them from an engineering firm in Penrose, dunno the name of the place tho.

Yeah bring them, I'll test them out and see how they look...might get some VHT Paint just in case.

I would be tempted to put very thin spacers on. I have been led to believe that the wheels can flex slightly under certain conditions and the brakes can expand slightly when hot. I'd be nervous if the clearance is just one post it!

Thanks guys, upon all your recommendations, think I'll put on the spacers on Sunday...will just have to take it easy(ish) till then.
...Better safe than sorry! :2thumbsup

I've been using Brembos on VR-4s for the best part of four years and never had a problem with clearance :)

But you've been using wheels specifically designed to go over them!! /pan

Cheap for 18's! - I'd like 18's on mine eventually, but the tyre prices are steering me away, 18" prices are double that of 17's

they are illegal. you need the ones that bolt to the bubs then bolt to the wheels.

I thought that was only if they exceeded something like 5mm?

Lots of thing are illegal....

As long as you realise that spacing them out that way does put more pressure on a smaller area of the wheel studs, i think you can use your judgement.
Certainly with 7mm spacers, and very hard suspension i never had any problems, but i guess it only has to break once.

-But yes they definately do fail you at warrant time (unless you take them off;)).
