I have measured my tyres and they are 30 psi. I thought they should be a little harder.

When I had 205/55 R15 I had 36-38psi on my older car. Down to 34psi when I was planning a long trip.

As I normally drive my car for short journeys, under 15km per trip, I thought a higher psi, might be more suitable. Because psi increases as temperature increases for long trips.

I run 36psi all round - works well for me.

I take my up to 36psi tonight and see how they feel. I can always lower the psi afterwards.

INSERT INTO post VALUES (I use a personal psi meter, not the one at the service station to get an accurate reading)

It certainly feels more sure-footed now and solid.

I have a set of Toyo Trans-Cruz ZR17" on it. These should do me for another year. I just wanted to make them feel right.

you got a pic of them - don't think we get that model name here - do you get proxes?

I suspect it is a supersceded model. The Proxes look similar

Here is a Picture of the tyre.

And if you read Japanese, the specifications here.

You can determine the size options that were available at the time.

I've pumped my tyres up to 36psi after seeing this thread and it feels quite good.

I run 36psi front and 34psi rear with the Toyo Proxes T1-Ss. That's 2psi more than I used to run with either the Avon ZZ-3s or the Yokohama A-038s because the Toyos have a more flexible sidewall.

You're right about the softer sidewall. Stops tramlining, but reduces turn in and they do need a bit more pressure. Having said that, i run 36psi in any tyre in any car! Habit, i suppose, after a few months of experimentation, I couldn't find a better set up.

Got the Toyos warm tonight on a quick run up the A68 from Scotch Corner to Jedburgh. Woo, these things grip! :) Car was handling like a go-kart, it was almost like being on slicks :D
