I've still got your 16s here Derek if you need 'em? One tyre is flat, but they all have good tread still.

Bummer. There were some for sale on the MLR a couple of months ago. May be worth checking?

I'm looking !

It would seem my alloys are now discontinued, so It's either a cheap set of 17" einkles with tyres, or a new set of 18's !! /help

you'll find plenty of 18's on fleabay at the minute, i'm looking fo 17s and they're like gold dust /pan - don't want 18's because of the tyre pricxes.

However odd it may seem, personally id not like to do that.. id always know they were cracked, and have a doubt at the back of my mind regarding strenght..

Thats how I felt, but I was assured that the material used to repair was actually stronger than the original wheel alloy.

Alloy wheel repair is very common, it might at least be worth going in and having a chat with a wheel repairer :)

Might look odd, but if you're desperate then I've got a few spare 18x8 BBS Rx's if you want one to tide you over?

I've now noticed a crack in the adjacent spoke !! /help not all the way through yet, but soon will be.

What I'm going to do is just use my van for the time being, & sit back to decide which wheels I'll go for.

Oh !! and also.... I've taken a few pics of the offending pothole that destroyed my wheel !! :2thumbsup I can feel a letter winging it's way to the council. /Grrr /pan /pan

Go for it mate! Ex's mother did the exact same thing not long ago and got a nice fat compensation cheque. Most people don't complain, but if you go the trouble (send them a LONG letter, pictures of the pothole, picture of the damage, pictures of you with a glum face pointing at the damage, etc), they're suckers for it.

I had a binman scrape my old V6-24....to be honest the damage was superficial, but I still got compensated with a full bodywork repair on the offending panel after making one phone call to the council!

You should definately send them a letter, and say that you now need to buy a complete set of 4 new wheels because your old ones can't be repaired and they aren't made any more.

Was talking to someone about this the other day as it happens, they didn't take pix but did send a formal letter, to which they got a reply more or less stating they were lying. Out came the camera and a trip to the offending hole only to find fresh tar in it's place.

MNake sure you've got time stamped evidence (newspaper in the photo), otherwise they fcuk ya!

Would 8.5" & 9.5" fit on our cars? I know the EVO 8" jobbies do, but how much room is there on a standard suss car?
