What's the fastest non VR-4 8G galant (say in 0-60mph or 1/4 mile times)? And how fast is it? I mean factory standard cars of course.

With Paper to back it up ! I think its "The Vee"
1/4 mile: 16.067@86.36
0-60mph in the 7 1/2 second area :inquisiti

I was more after a model, rather than a specific car. Is The Vee's V6-24V heavily modded?

The engine would be the 6A13 SOHC which was avaiable in the Legnum STR and ST, Galant V6-24's, and possibly others, with the 5 speed manual gearbox. Rated at 125kw stock, somewhere around 80-85kw at the wheels.
i have a 6A13 SHOC V6 Legnum 25ST (4wd triptronic), has a few mods and dyno proven at 92.8kw at the wheels (on a 4wd dyno)

What about the 3.0 V6 in the USA?

What mods does yours have Gly? I can see induction. I presume you got an improved 'zort? Anything else? I'd like to chip mine, but i havent a clue where to start looking!
my mods are only very basic and stuff ive done myself to keep the cost low...
ive done the intake as you can see, also has a direct air feed from the bumper.
exhaust has had a de-cat, and ive had the back box changed to a 3" dy-tech racing muffler... rest of the system is stock,
in the neer future im doing a cold air box to seal the filter from the rest of the engine bay...
also im getting a vr4 intake plenum to try on and see if theres any gain from it.
also considering a AFC rather than a chip as ive never seen one here in NZ for the V6
my aim is 100kw at the wheels (on a budget)... anything more will be a bonus

It's slower than the V6 Sport, apparently. It's a heavy old beast and it's Automatic only.
Still, it's about 200bhp I believe?

my old 2ltr GLS could pull a 1/4 mile: -16 sec's and would quite happily do 135+ mph
saw it the other day .... still miss it, it's not till you sell a car that you notice what everyone else noticed .............:inquisiti Fek it's still a good lookin car!!

Not at that time. Only mod was alloys which were heavier than the originals.
Different story now though!!

now that does look nice! I guess you do have the fastest non-vr4 8G - once you've got grip that is! How is the ecu going?
I would try and run 245 or even wider tyres at the front, you're going to have a ton of grip problems.

The MIVEC 2.0 v6 would be the quickest non vr4 i reckon...

Im sure the US 3.0 v6 is 200 approx also...

Ok chaps, it's running, but still shed loads to do. Am still trying to get it ready for sm6 (tomorrow!!!!!!) so my time for the last month has been work, sleep and car - no exceptions/pan . I am going to do a write up following on from where I left off in the members section, but please bear with me - I'm out in a minute to refit the interior. Not been out in it yet but after all the hassle, it does sound nice.:2thumbsup
