Gly - not really, most of the time I was trying to take pics of the cars :) I did take quite a few of Kenneth's engine bay without the intake manifold but they all came out blurry :(

Looks like a great meet. Shame about the uk type weather!! Couple of things, whats going on with the 6a13 in pieces on the pallet, and what was the prob with the impact beam? I understand you were trying to give the IC more clearance but in the other thread you say it wouldn't have it. Great pics - thanks guys:2thumbsup

That engine is my spare, I think I'll use things like the pistons, conrods, and crankshaft as templates for the manufacture of forged internals, and I can always get the cams reground too, and play around with trying to fit mivec heads to it. I can also get the cam covers polished up if I decide to take the plastic engine cover off permanently.

The front bumper than Kenneth has is a little too small for the front impact beam, we will probably need to get a custom front impact beam made up. We modified it to fit around the intercooler perfectly fine, the bumper just wasn't going to fit on though

Cheers Brad, was interested in the beam as I had a similar prob with mine. The whole beam and bumper on the vr protrudes further forward than my v6 24, so some surgery on the bumper was required!! Only found out the further work needed, just after I had ignored the Facelift vr bumper on ebay/pan /pan

Andy - the problem is that the beam can't be modified, and neither can the bumper. We'll have to get custom beams made up. we also considered running a beam behind the intercooler, which may work as well.

Gly, I had the most fun sliding along the floor trying to break the studs out. You didn't take 4 extra ones for yourself to glue on?

Jono, we had a good day and you are definately welcome to come to future ones, I think we did a very good job considering we had 4 days to plan the whole thing. My mum was fortunately happy with the idea and was fine to supply the bread and the gas bottle, so it's all good :) It had to be that weekend though because we are moving soon. The good news is that the new shed will be quite a bit bigger, we may be able to have enough room to comfortably work on 3 cars, it was a little tight with 3 cars in the current place.

We didn't get through much beer though, I was a little disappointed :)

Saturdays are no good for me unforunately as I have to work, unless we are doing it in summer and can keep on working until later on. We could do it on a long weekend, but most people will have things to do.
