Cats!

Sorry I realise this subject has 'been done to death'.........done a search can't find exactly what I need to know,so here goes,am I right in saying my Galant est has 3 cats in?,two in the down pipes,one in the lower section.
Would it be worth removing the lower one and more importantly would it meet current emissions /pan ?

I could well be wrong, not being the most knowledgable guy on the site. But I always thought that they only had the one cat in the lower section.

Dont take this for granted. I'm sure one of the other guys will be along soon.

Also from reading previous posts, some have past there emissions without the cat, but most have failed.

I have just fitted my decat and plan to take it off for the next MOT. Not worth having to pay for the re-mot for the sake of a 20 minute job.

that is the first time ive heard of three cats

ive taken loads of down pipes off and not seen any cats in them.

All our cars have 1 cat (if at all). I assume the "cats" on the downpipes you mention are the flexi joints to allow some movement? The only cat is located directly beneath the centre console.
