German women sick of dragging moaning partners round the shops have been offered some respite with the opening of a special kindergarten for men.
The 'Nox Bar' in Hamburg, northern Germany, provides beer and entertainment on Saturday afternoons while women go off and indulge in retail therapy.
Men pay just 10 euros INSERT INTO post VALUES (£7) for a name badge, two beers, a hot meal, televised football and games.
'The women are issued a receipt for their partners when they hand them in and can pick them up again when they return it to us later,' Alexander Stein, manager of the 'Nox Bar' in the northern city of Hamburg told news agency Reuters.
The idea for the man creche or 'Maennergarten' came from a female customer, Stein said.
'Last week the men had a remote control car to play with. Next week there's going to be a mini racetrack,' said Stein.
The idea has proved popular with customers and there are now plans to offer a drilling workshop and other entertainments.
