Seriously, iv fixed the clocks in both my Legnum (losing time), and its a 3 minute job (just bend out the connectors). Occasionally they might need resoldering, but $50..../Grrr

Please don't think you need to use these guys unless your clock is ruined.
If its gaining time.... i'll fix it for $25:deal2:

Or you could just get a CVR4 memberhsip for $20.....

Nice one Gly, well done :D

Just dont forget that if this place does it as part of their business, chances are that they really cant charge less than $50 or it just wouldnt be economical for them to do it.

The faulty clock is really annoying. I need to fix mine, but haven't got around to it yet. Why didn't Mitsi fix it after like the 1st or second 8G model year?

Gly, why dont you ask them if its just a case of bending the connectors or re-soldering some dry joints??

bradc
09-04-2006, 11:44 PM
haha lol. you should post questions on their auction asking if it is fair to charge that much for bending or soldering the connections.

Probably took a few years to become apparent.

Thought I'd post a comment...

Looks like a great service. My clock is really annoying me. I've seen this service elsewhere on Trademe for $50. Why would anyone pay so much?!

I had to fix my clock, and took lots of photos for an article here on CVR4. I haven't got round to posting them up. Has someone else done the same before? If so, I won't bother.

q: is the reason why you need the old ones back because you bend 4 pins back into place, then charge another $50 for it?

Kenneth

Now where did my gas powered soldering iron go...

Gidday, How hard is it to get to the clock itself?

Robotnik123
02-05-2006, 01:35 PM
I think you guys have been a bit mean to the clock repair guy. $50 is an OK price for the service he is offering. There is nothing wrong with trying to make an honest dollar. Not eveyone is able to solder.

Gidday, How hard is it to get to the clock itself?

It pops out if you push up on the front carefully, then the bits unscrew untill you can see the internals. But in both my clocks, it was simply a case of popping it out and bending the pins inside the connecting plug out a bit with a fine screw driver, and this fixed them. Takes about 5 minutes. if that doesnt work, then some of the joins need soldering.

Both of mine were fixed by bending the pins as well.

Robotnik, I think it did end up a little bit unfair to him, but he is ripping people off imho by making it sound like a really complicated process that he is able to do, when most of the time you just need to bend a couple of pins
