Hey Dyfed. We use this company in work http://www.towbarwarehouse.co.uk/default.htm . They do a towbar for almost every car I know. Click on "Witter towbar price list" and enter from there.

the towbar is a peice of pi$$ to fit , mine took me about 3/4 hr including the wiring , as for the transmission cooler , mine has never even attempted to get warm even when i was towing a 1 1/4 tonne wood chipper at a few mph over the legal limit

so its not that necessary to fit the cooler then?

no i dont own a caravan, but ive a small trailer which will be using to shift logs and hardcore to the tip which is 2miles away

btw with regards to the wiring of the electrics.. to where do you wire it to? is there a plug or do you have to patch up to the existing loom?

on that type of use no you dont need a transcooler

just connect the wiring with some scotch locks onto the existing loom or solder them , and like Richy says you definitely don't need a cooler for that work , and as long as you are sensible you shouldn't need one for the odd longer run with a heavier trailer :2thumbsup

hi guys i need some info/help here

got the towbar fitted tonight.. what a palaver!
had to remove the lights/bumper/boot trim etc! and the bloody exhaust was in the way too.

anyway onto the electrics. we didnt do this tonight cos we couldnt find the main harness and the 7 core isnt very long.

all we could think of doing was wiring onto one set of lights which run into one cluster and another wire off that into the other lights for the indicator.

unless someone here knows where the main loom is to save time? (getting a longer 7 core isnt a problem)

just wire it to your lights, its fine to do it that way

cool but the 7 core is only long enough to reach one cluster not the other.

i guess a separate wire needs running to the other indicator then yes?

i wont be mounting the dash led either.

yeah i fit towbars all the time for work. just wire into the closest light then run 1 wire to the other for the indicator. its how the pros do it!

towbar fitted (took 3 hours) remove bumper and lights and the innards of the boot, plus trying to get the bolts above the exhaust was fun :(

wired up today by an auto electrician shop.. 20 quid later and im ready :)
