Hi Wise ones

Fiinally took the plunge and purchased an Apexi AVCR boost controller which I will be fitting this weekend .

I've read quite a few post on here about fitting boost controllers and just wanted to confirm that when I fit it that I conect the solenoid to the pipe with the red tip (same place a the manual one )

if I'm correct then I will take lots of pic whilst installing it and post them up

Cheers John

Use this diagram to match up with the hoses under the bonnet, then match it to the instructions. My controller (not an apexi) came with a replacement soledoid, so i used the hoses running to the stock one, but leave it plugged in, or the computer will read a fault.

Also, if the new one doesn't have a recirculating outlet, make sure you block off the hose that feeds back to the intake side, or it will let air in past the MAF.

But it sounds like your on the right track.

Thanks Bern - great right as usual :)

Managed to get it fitted without any issues at all and before reading your write up .

Well the question is how much differnce did it make ?

I got it setup by the local RR place and then a quick power run the figures make it worthwhile :)

The BHP has gone up by 22bhp , not much but enough .

Now for the real interesting one as I'm not looking for a huge top speed just a fast 0-60 , the torque went up by ??????????

50 ft/lbs , the kick is great and I'm only running at 0.9 bar for safety - they checked the fueling and said it was spot on at full blast

so Apexi :iloveyou:

Did you do any pics of the wiring - would be nice to add some centre console pics to the writeup...

What did they charge you for setup and dyno?

Hi Bern

I did get some pics with my phone but the quality was crap , will take it to bits again and do some real quality pictures .

The setup cost me 58 +vat and took about one hour with two power runs .

John, thats a big increase in torque, what was your max torque and max power figure? Could you post up a graph?

Hi Brad

Max BHP was 284
Max Torque was 290.7

I will scan the graphs in on Weds when I'm back in the office .

Orginal power was 262 and 240 torque - I upload the graphs for this on a previous thread

Cheers John

hmm, you were a little bit below what you should have for both power and torque, but that has been sorted out now. What did they say the AFR was at full load?

Tmention something about 7.5 not sure where that figure came from as I did not see them conect anything to engine , I assume they measured it from the exhaust gases ?

Cheers John

it can't be 7.5, it would be more like 10.5-12
