The last ones are more to my taste - they'd look good on a silver car (assuming it's staying silver!) as WODJNO's proves.

Choice 2 or 3. What happened to the Evo 9 wheels? It seemed like you wanted those and had agreed a deal?

Yup too shiny for me too. If you're going for 18's try something from an RX7 or GTo off ebay.

The 2nd and 3rd ones are quite nice, but I personally don't like the geometry of 6 spoke makes, I prefer either 5 spoke, twin 5 spoke (think facelift mags), 7 spoke or 10 spoke.

Derek, do a search for Gmax G958 or 5zigen FN01R-C, you can get the zigen's in virtually any colour you want, and the G958's are just simply beautiful

saw an advert in the scumchester yellow pages.. " 1,000's of alloys in stock" So I trots along to find a comercial tyre fitters ? :inquisiti oops ?
Still, I went into reception to find a HUGE display of 5 ... yes five alloy wheels !! /pan [ trades descriptions act anyone ? ]
undettered, I spent all of 30 secs browsing the 'pile' to find......................... ONE.. 18" 114.3 PDC ET35 MATRIX SHADOW ALLOY !! the same as on my car !! [ now discontinued ] :2thumbsup :iloveyou: [ the wheel that is, not the car.]

"we paid £120 for them [?? them ? ] but you can have it for £80." "£60 for cash ? I asked ? " deal done.

Next stop was a wheel refurbishers in Stockport. [ I do sometimes work you know !! :pimp2: :pimp2: ] For them to do 3 wheels, inc powder coating would be £45 ea + Gordons beer tokens, & £20 for the new wheel.. just so they all match. silver or black, yet to decide.

So....... thats approx £250 ish for one new wheel & 3 repaired, or £355 for a brand new set inc nuts etc ?? wot do I doody do ??  :inquisiti :pimp2: /help

I don't like 6 spoke mags, the geometry doesn't work out, all the spokes aim at each other. I prefer 5 and 7 :)

The Konig unknown mags are known as quite ricey and boy racerish over here, not sure if you'd want that.

not if you've got blembo's they wont !! :book: not enough offset. What offset do you require ??? Also the Konigs spokes bow out to the frnt edge of the wheel giving clearance room.. They may fit, but if you ain't sure then it aint worth a Punt..

bradc
27-04-2006, 01:29 AM
It is hard to know exactly what offset wheels are needed. if you check out the 255s do fit on a legnum thread you will see an example of some wheels that do not fit over brembo's even though they have a 37mm offset. The evo wheels are 38mm offset, but the spokes are fairly close to the outer lip. The wheels fitted on Kenneths car have the big deep polished lip that means the spokes are about 12mm closer to the brake rotor than the original evo7 wheels

Enkei RPO2's also don't really fit over the brembo's and I beleive they are 35mm offset, you will need 3mm spacers for those to fit over brembo's and to provide enough clearance for heat expansion and mag movement/warping when you are pushing the car to the limits
