Hi All

Some of you may know that ive been trying to fit a speedo converter to my vr4.

Ive had various problems even though the wiring was perfect, so i bought another unit and had it fitted by a local garage to see if that would work..

But No.... /Grrr /Grrr /Grrr

So, both units from Funky Product dont work... /Grrr /Grrr

I might call and see what they say.

No good.... so, not only am i £70 down... but im sure the funky returns wouldnt be so happy to take them back anyway....

Time to find another manufacturer of the unit...

BAH! /Grrr /Grrr /Grrr

Hmmm. I've always been dubious of Funky's knowledge of the Galant..... last time I looked, they were selling a lot of USDM-fittment parts, with no warning.....

I know others have been happy, but I can't say I'm too surprised...:inquisiti

HAve you tried just disconnecting the speed sensor wire yet? Should take you five mins to do... just to prove the point.

Cut the ecu speed signal wire and it still works.

It is the correct cable as per the wiring diagram tho;'

BAH!

???? I can't see how you can still be limited if you'vr cut the correct wire. If the ECU doesn't have a speed pick up, then it can't stop you speeding....

Hijacking this thread! :)
I took my meters out and found a yellow cable that did not look original behind..

Does it look the same on your cars?

Also attached pictures on the meters front and back.

Tried to figure out which cable that is the speed cable.. Compared to this site: http://www.delta-autotronics.com/Speedsensors.htm but Galant 1999 is not included :( and the 96-98 description is not true.. it says that there is a 17 pin connector at the back, but all the three connectors on mine are 16 /help
