what the plastic fantastic ? lovely noise , no change that absolutly fantastic noise , its that loud if its ticking over on the drive and the neighbour decides to go out in his dodge srt pick up ( the one with the viper engine) you can't hear the truck /JawDroppi unfortunatly they just don't do anything for me , now if it was a dodge charger (in orange of course or black ) or maybe a GT500 mustang then it would be a different story

Well....

Me ...
1997 Legnum VR-4. Fairly shiny but knackered. Power not currently known.
1974 Colt Galant GL Hardtop. Not terribly shiny and also knackered. Power not currently known.
1976 Colt Galant DL Saloon. Not shiny either and almost knackered. Power not currently known.

Alex...
1996 VW Golf diesel. Fairly shiny, operational. About 63bhp.

Dad...
2003 Kia Rio 1.3. Shiny, operational. Unknown bhp but not a lot.

Grandad...
2001 Stupid smelly french thing. Shiny, operational. Does about 87 miles a year. Probably just as well.. Don't want to tempt the legendary french reliability, do we?!

Father-in-law...
2002 Ford Focus TDCi Ghia. Operational, though does have slightly incontinent Aircon system. Criminally dirty. 115bhp and about 3,232,842lbs of torque

Mother-in-Law...
2005 Ford Fiesta TDCi. Operational, and seeing as it's Vals, 5th gear has probably never been engaged. The turbo has probably never been used either. Fairly shiny and about 75bhp, of which she uses about 7.5bhp.

psb - how can you not consider the Corvette to be a classic car?

While I agree in part with PSB, dare I say ALL American cars are a bag of poo, and I don't really like any of them. Some are better than others, and some are classics - but if I were to win any American car, I'd sell it immediately and buy something that corners.

i didn't say it wasn't a classic , i just don't like them , as far as i am concerned theo nly decent car to come out of the states was the shelby cobra , but even that was a british car with a stonking great V8 shoehorned into it , yes yank tanks do have a certain something about them but i think that certain something is the engine .

The MKII is a "TSR Performance" tweaked 8 Valve, bored to 2 litre gas flowed head etc., The Mk4 is a great drive though "revo" remapped 1.8T:happy:
Everything insured thru Adrian Flux

I should have put the ride on mower out, that adds another 12HP/pan

OK, my tuppence....

Me:
VR4, 260ishBHP
Suzuki SV650, 72BHP, but 50ft/lbs torque, 160kg means 0-60 in less than 3.5secs!
Suzuki/Kawasaki GixerZed750 project (sadly, not turned the crank in anger yet) Should be about the 100horse mark.

Old Man:
Rover 200 1.4i. Dog slow green bathtub.

Brother:
Passat TDi (did have a Saab 9-3 Aero until not so long ago)

Sister in Law:
New Megane thingy (did have a Beemer 3 series) See what a family does to your horsepower figures! Ha ha ha!

Sister: Does not drive. Now 40, so prob never will either. Recent murmurs of taking bike test proves she at least listens to me! Good girl.

Until you've owned one I think it's hard to be objective. There is a guy who I use for my yank who runs his own garage and used to competively race (and still does some times) american cars said "I used to hate them cos I thought they were big old dogs, but I realised that what I like about them too".
By the way last time I saw him race in the historic series about 1 1/2 years at Mallory Park in his 78' Trans Am he was beating Lotus', Porsches, Tvr's and loads of other supposedly good handling cars in his old barge.

I Know this is cheating a little but

At my disposal I have 4 MTU Diesel engines rated at 90 ltr V 20 TT's Producing 4036 horse's each with a combined power of 16,144 HP and Boy I can tell you they are noisy when I start them and I have another on the way to make it 5 with space for 6 in the future.

I know its cheating but that's an impressive BHP I am glad I dont pay the Fuel bill

Pezza U R right,

They are not in Cars:2thumbsup and you know where there are don't you ?

They are larger than cars and most Van's and they are not on a ship ?????

They power our building where I work but only when all goes wrong and we loose incoming "Grid" Power

Each is connected to a 2.5 Mega watt Alternator and spit out 11000 Volts I get to run them up once a week off load and quartly ON load to run our whole building.:afro: :afro:
