2 days of high octane fun at Santa Pod. Camping or hotelling, this has been a good weekend for the lsat couple of years. £20 gets you unlimited runs on saturday, £15 gets you 3 runs on sunday. Plenty of 1/4 mile action can be had! And also a CVR4 dodgem session!!

Website & Tickets (http://www.japshow.co.uk/)
Last Years Thread (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7867)
Pictures from last year (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/Gallery/showgallery.php?cat=527)

Entry tickets can be got from their website - if you want stand space then you'll need to let me know! Camping will be with the cars, as per last year. Again - let me know you are bringing a tent!

Advance tickets are £15 weekend, £12 sunday.
On the gate it is £20 weekend, £15 sunday, £10 saturday. Prices per person.

So who's up for some dodgems and jet cars then!!

1. Nick & Vicky, both days, camping.
2. Kieran & Alex, both days, camping. Plus 2 hangers on!!
3. Ian and Tom, both days, camping.
4. Richard & Lorraine, both days, camping.

is the show in santa pod similar to the japfast i went to? or is it just people sitting watching a drag race?

what im getting at are there stands n stuff there plus car clubs and so forth?

how far is it from billing aquadrome in terms of time?

Nick Mann
22-05-2006, 10:07 PM
Check out their website - it's linked in the first post.

You can drag your own car. There will be big V8's and Jet cars running occaisonally. They have recently been doing Drift Show Demos. There is a bar, pole dancing and trade stands.

It is not as big as Japfest, but it is still a big event with lots going on.

Nick Mann
20-06-2006, 05:07 PM
No need to worry about tent space! I'm sure we have plenty of room. What did you buy eventually?

Also - food. Anyone got a mammoth BBQ to take? My camping BBQ is quite small! The communal cooking sessions last year were good fun!

We will be bringing a cooker, one table, two chairs, our tent (spare bedrooms for anyone who needs them) and the tiny new club gazebo. We will also be bringing food to cook on the BBQ and booze, but only enough for the two of us. We will also be bringing (if I can talk her into it) a couple of batches of VICKY'S CHOCOLATE BROWNIES!!!

Whos getting there first? Whoever it is - try and work out the best place for the tents and cars!!

Lillywotsername
20-06-2006, 06:13 PM
We will be bringing 2 tents, 1 for us and 1 for the kids ( 3 boys). will also be bringing our gas camping stove and a couple of chuck away bbqs. I had only planned on bringing food for us but ask Richy that usually means I have enough for 10.

Is there rules on bottles? Or is wine and beer allowed? Will also be bringing camping table and chairs plus a couple of collapsible ones if any one needs it.

Looking forward to a great Club VR4 weekend, just hope the weather bucks up a bit.:2thumbsup

Nick Mann

Anything is allowed except for glass bottles. If they find glass it will be confiscated. (Last year they did search cars on the way in, but it seemed to be random and innefficient.) So take your wine in a box, and your beer in cans!! And make the ketchup a squeezy bottle!!

Nope! You'll have to pay the entry fee!! /pan I can't remember what it is, but you can pay on the gate.

the only problem then is you will have to park with the plebs, then come and get a pass of us, then go and collect your car to bring it to the stand. No problem, though.

I have to say that I am really looking forward to this event. No offense meant to anyone who is unable to attend, but I quite like the fact that there will not be so many of us this year.

Don't get me wrong, it is really nice when we get a good turn out, but I can never remember anyone's names! I'm hoping to get to know a few of you a bit better this time :) :chugchug:

Legnum Breaking, what are the mods done to the car that pulled that time down the straight?

Standard engine apart from a side exit exhaust, plus 130BHP of nitrous oxide.

Would have been a damn site quicker if the clutch didn't slip all the way, and if I could have run the planned 210BHP of nitrous.

The car has effectively cost me nothing, its done 250000kms, it probably needs a service (I didn't even check the oil level), but its quite good fun.

tell you what John, if half the blokes on this site had the balls of that bird there would be some seriously brave driving going on.

I think Nick got within a few feet of it to take the pickies and it was wandering around bold as brass really close to us. It even went Underneath daves monster...
Brave or Stupid, take your pick but you had to give it him, he had guts.
