So, do you get an outrageous one that loses all the sleeper factor or a subtle one that is there just to get some more gee gees?

What do you think? Here in true Photoshop style, 3 to choose from.

To be truthful Col, i've been thinking something along similiar lines to that third one ever since I saw an S2000 bonnet in an article. A louvred bonnet, mmm

I think that it would suit our car very well, and would still make it quite subtle

The Vee's bonnet vent looks to be the one of choice now - it just looks so cool on Andy's car :)

I like the louvres on the bottom one, nice.

The louvered bonnet is the one for me too, a bit retroish too but suits well...

Also that may be most effective in terms of heat dispersion? Hmm the amount of heat haze from the VR4 engine bay may obscure your vision tho :D

First one looks best by a mile however can you photo shop the same vents that andys got on your car colvr4? I strongly believe that the colour of your car makes a vent look good or not so good /Hmmm

The second one is certainly interesting, and would be unique in VR4 circles - but I prefer the first one overall.

for me it would still be the evo style/pan /pan
but of the 3 there it'd be the first one. No2 has to be a nono. No3 the jury's out for now. certainly it's different.

Yup the 2nd is OK too...may frighten a few cars in front of you, when viewed in their rear view mirror.. just need the red flaps that open and close when you rev... hot rod style /yes :2thumbsup

No.2 looks like a chav litterbin job! No.1 or the vees evo type one i'd say. No.3 looks a little too fussy and surely it would create more drag?

I personally think, less is more.. I like the idea of small vents at front, like dereks.. and a vent like Reds but right at the back of the bonnet, by the wipers..

I do like number 1. But i think that 1 & 2 are not going to be of much use on our cars, except for looks. They are a set up better used for a blower or a boxer engine like the Skubes  But on our type of set up i don't think you would get any effective cooling whatsoever. The 3rd 1 would be best for venting hot air, but i don't like it IMHO

Working on a couple more images at the moment, but I still like no 3. I am looking for something subtle, has good venting capabilities for our cars engine in the areas that it matters most, and isn't on every Tom, Dick and Harry's car.

The louvres idea has some potential. Maybe not so many, but I like the concept!

I've always liked this bonnet. The vents at the front are very similar to the ones on my bonnet, but the vents at the back add a lot IMHO

That bonnet also lets you go really fast :D

Like the vents at the back but the main vent is still a bit OTT for my liking. I am worried about the rain water getting in and rusting lots of my engine gubbins. From what I have seen on various threads throughout the car club world, it is better to have an EXIT for hot air than a OPENING for cold air.

That is why I think I am going to go for the vented option. I like the idea of vents rather than scoops as well to give a more stealthy look.

The vents on my bonnet are in a similar place to the ones on that skyline, rain just drops down onto the front turbo pipe and into the small space between the radiator and the engine, with a little bit going onto the front turbo heat shield. The big advantage is that the radiator blows all of it's air straight out the vent

Hi Col,

Gotta be no. 1

2 and 3 look like bits of ventilation duct that you can buy in B&Q!

You did no. 4 for a joke right? :2thumbsup
