I have been thinking about putting a tiger in my tank next time we have an event, I used octane booster at the POD INSERT INTO post VALUES (although I know it does pretty much bugger all!) but was thinking of beig a bit more extreme next time. Searched around a bit and found this stuff:

76 Turbo extreme (http://www.nutidltd.co.uk/pdfs/R_5SR_231002.pdf)

Looks awesome............however at about £10 a litre it is a bit pricey! 76 have a lot of different fuels including some 106 RON for a much more reasonable INSERT INTO post VALUES (??!) £2.70 a litre. Was wondering if maybe we could have a group buy for the next event? Or is it just me that is a mad crazy nutter??!

You're a mad crazy nutter ... :D

I'm not keen on octane boosters. One of these was suspected INSERT INTO post VALUES (but never proven) of contaminating the Lambda sensor in my Legacy RS-B so I've steered clear of them since.

As I recall, the VR-4 is set for 100RON in Japan. I run Optimax here rated at 98.6RON, or thereabouts, and the car runs fine on that. As far as I'm concerned, petrol's expensive enough here at around 80p/litre - I don't fancy paying £2.70/litre. At the last track day I did at Knockhill, I ran about 50 miles on track at an average of 7mpg  At 80p/litre, that's about £26 in petrol. At £2.70/litre, that would have been nearly £90. Too much for me :)

I'm with Brian here
When I picked up the VR4 the Garage was very clear about not using any sort of Octane booster

Plus some octane boosters leave residue's so if you do damage your engine the Warranty would be void.
If the garage decided to check?

Go for BP ultra 100ron, should be safer and cleaner than anything you can bung in your tank that could possibly cause more harm than good.

Oh.. :Ponder:

BP here is dearer than Shell, and BP are the most likely to hike fuel prices before anyone else so Shell gets my vote first, filled up with Ultimate coming back from Pod and must say the fuel has lasted longer. :Ponder:
