not at all..
You'll get a briefing from the experts at the course, pep talk from the CVR4 guys that have done it before, and the minute you hit the first bend, its all good.. thats, if, you were worried about it. Otherwise, read the "not at all.." bit.

In 2 years of tracking I've never once had my helmet inspected (that's CRASH helmet btw ;) ), so anything will do.

If you're going to buy one then it's difficult to find one that hasn't got the appropriate safety standard stickers. Best time to buy one is late summer when all the bike shops are selling off their stock cheap, I got mine for 60 quid :)

Ok……
Had a chat with Ian at www.japfest.co.uk this afternoon, & provisionally booked a club stand for 40 cars.
The fliers they handed out at Combe were just to gauge interest in hosting japfest II at Donington park. The organisers will be winging their way up to Donington soon to finalise details, regarding stands, track time etc. This event is as new to them as it will be to us !

Here’s as much as I know at the moment ;

The cost of the stand will be the same as at CC……….Ziltch !

The cost of track hire.. per session.. is £600

30 cars max for each track session. £600 / 30 = £20 per car

We, as a club can book 3 sessions. £60 for 3 x 15 mins.

‘mixed’ track sessions will also be available @ £25 each [ for the usual suspects !! ] :scholar: :iloveyou:

Because I have contacted them early, I also asked for preference on the location of the club stand. We want to be in prime location for access to the facilities & access to the track.
The Japfest organisers have Nick Manns contact details, & therefore only he will be able to sort out the ticket purchases / payments etc. [ only one contact name allowed ?? ] :inquisiti

Question is now ?? can we get 30 cars on the track, or will we have to start thinking about selling track time ?? [ that could affect our plans to have a parade lap ?? ] /help

HJM
24-05-2006, 07:42 PM
Nice one Derek :2thumbsup

Whilst it would make me very happy if it did happen, I really can't see 30 CVR4 cars on track (please feel free to prove me wrong on this one  )

But saying that we just paid £55 each for two sessions at Combe, so if we get 20 cars that would only be £60 for two sessions at Donny - not so bad.

There is more than one Doningtons in the UK just ask my mate .

He left london and entered Donnington into his ShatNav , 1.5 hrs later he arrived in Donnington and was unable to find the track , a quick phone call to me and we discovered he was in donnington not donington (one is nr Derby the other nr Telford ) .

Boy did we take the p out of him for that - he only just made it in time for his bike day there

Woohoo! Be great to meet you Donovan. Right, seeing as you're out in those sandy places and such, I'll keep it brief.

I think the whole track time thing is being decided at the moment, so as soon as we know more, I'll update here or drop you a PM or something, how's that?:2thumbsup

Any objections to my putting Donovan down for a stand space? I know it's not a Galant, but he does own one and is intending to get a Galant whilst here.... And we still have plenty of slots...

Go for it :2thumbsup

We probably need to re-confirm our 40 car stand and "preferential" spot as Derek provisionally booked it just after JF1

I got an email to confirm my two tickets and three track sessions and the total. I would give them a call if you don't get one as it may not have gone through.
