Ok, as you guys can see the car doesn't have the latest VR4 front spoiler that the 2000-2003 Galant V6 cars have. This one is 2000 2.5 V6-24

but will the VR4 spoiler fit on this car.... (btw: the car colour is Alamoana green)

as far as i am aware, the cars from 97 upwards are all the same, with the 2000-2003 just having bodykits added, so i would imagine the front bumper off a VR4 or newer Sport models will fit.

there was an article in banzai i think about modding a vr4 estate and it mentioned a company or two who used to make them in this country.

well it wasnt an article... someone wrote in and asked ;) (try the letters section..)

yeah but for some reason Im not sure why some year 2000 v6 cars dont come with the bodykit like in the one i showed above.

Just different trim levels. The car is fundamentally the same, just different bumpers bolted on. The Front bumper is only held on in a dozen places, and a fair few of those are clips!! I think 10 bolts and a handful of clips will see your bumper off.

Be aware that there are two types of grille and you really need the right one for the bumper too.

heres another example I just found this on the net of a 2000 v6 galant car but no bodykit. Strange

It's not strange! It's just different trim!!

Why do some Vectras have different body kits? Or Mondeos?

It's just a different bumper!!

Nah, not strange. That's just a 1st facelift bumper.

The Sport/VR-4 bumper was only standard fit from 2001, not 2000. Before that date, it was only available on the V6 Sport.

Seriously considering a spoiler though. And if anyones got a couple of vr4 front bumpers lying about put one my way.

I think your car would be from the 2000 production run, Glover - don't forget that it used to take a while for the cars to be shipped from Japan!

Not exactly sure of the switch-over date, mind.

Some V6-24 models were available till around 2002 (run out stock in the UK), the "Sport" model was officially sold along side the v6-24 and GLS.

Later in 2002 there was some badge engineering and the V6-24 and GLS were no more, these were replaced by "Classsic", "Equipe" and "Eleagance" which all had the facelift "VR4" style bumpers and side skirts. Classic & Equipe models had similar trim levels to the GLS, but the V6 Eleagance (or Sport depending how it was badged...) was not the same spec as the v6-24 (not quite as plush) although some options were available at extra cost eg leather etc.

hope this helps ;)

early 2000 were the first facelift, like the one you showed. later 2000 was the sport trim. mine is a 2000 registered in November i think. all the same car though

That purple V6 still for sale? Almost went and looked at it a few weeks ago when a guy at work was looking for a new car... He ended up buying an Avensis Tourer (new shape) instead, but after driving my GLS he liked it better than the Legacy, old avensis and various others.

/Banana i actually have one like that as a spear. my car is lowerred so sometimes the muscle bumper might get damaged going into a deep drain or hitting a speed bump so i just slip on the one u have there and i'm on my way to the fix it shop with the muscle bumper. very clever don't u think.

i have one like that as a spear. cause my car has drop low springs so every now and then the bumper gets damaged by either a speed bump i didn't see or a really deep drain. so when its damaged i put on that one till its fixed.
