For my next trick I am going to take a soda stream bottle, an electrically operated valve, a switch, and some tubing and I am going to fashion a device to spray CO2 on to my intercooler. This should prevent heat soak in traffic INSERT INTO post VALUES (or in the queue at the pod) and give significant INSERT INTO post VALUES (below ambient) air inlet temperature reductions. This will obviously not benefit me at this time of year, but come summer will be very useful!

You dont have to be mad to post here..........:D

Are you serious Dave ???

Wouldn't that cause it to fracture due to the coldness ??

On the Evo's they use water spray

think that's what he's suggesting..
im planning a similar idea :D

I dont believe so. see the link below for a commercial version. Trouble is a big CO2 cylinder and a ~£400 price tag! I reckon I can do it for about £20!!! hehehehehe

Ahh I see
The spray is towards the vents but not hitting as such
It would be pushed towards vents by inertia

The spray is directed in the general direction, but you are right, the idea is to get a mist covering a large area. Cant see any reason why I cant do it on the cheap, and I thought the soda stream bottle idea was inspired! £3 a shot to change them, most supermarkets stock them...........cant go wrong!:D

it really shouldnt be that hard to fabricate one..
im sure you can get fine mist jets from places like B&Q, or some plumping place..
get a pipe, loop it into shape.. drill some hopes, put the mist jets into them... connect it up by a hose, and attach whatever bottle/thing your going to use

im assuming some sort of electronic valve will be used? - wonder what we could use

Work are getting rid of a load of drinks machines, they have a load of fittings, valves, gauges, and I have just stuck one in the back of my car INSERT INTO post VALUES (with permission). Tommorow I will get another one. The majority of the stuff will be junked, but it did have donor parts for bottle connections, halo spray ring, solenoid valve INSERT INTO post VALUES (240V, but I have a job lot of power inverters!) and quick release connections.

mmmwwwwwwooooohahahahaaaaaaa

where is the intercooler mounted on the VR-4 then? I've never seen mine.

me thinks you are correct! Mind you by now I suppose you know where every nut bolt and fixture goes! Not to mention the vacuum pipes! :D

Dave I have noticed you have the same style Number plate as me the larger size
You might want to consider replacing this with a UK longer one like Barry's

I'm pretty sure this has something to do with not getting enough cold air through the Cooler especially in the hot amd humid summer days

Me thinks that next year its time to change number plate size for the summer :D

could tell you what bolt number goes where aswell!!.. test me! INSERT INTO post VALUES (im at work so i cant cheat) find a picture, arrow a bolt, and ill tell you the number

I think those wee ones are legal now.. the ones the same width as the square ones.. but they are about 2" tall.. would fit in nicely me thinks!

Read all the articles. There is a great little ECU that can control the water sprayers.
