Absolutely cool day ..actually bloody cold ..!!
Must have done about 30+ laps of Puke in convoy at 140 kph, ABS Braking exercise, Slalom exercises, more convoy a bit faster then a hot lap in an M6 where we hit 260 down the back straight of Puke...with 4 in the car !!!

And The Stig was there, see if you can spot him ....hint ... He drove the M6

...and no, we weren't allowed to take the VR4 round the track, all very controlled, RT's in the BMW's, 2 drivers per car, follow the instructor as he talks you through 'best line' cornering at speed. But managed to fool the TCL on the BMW and get a wee bit of sideways action through hairpin and railway. Hairpin speed is only 60 kph, even for V8's, it's TIGHT !!!!
Still reckon the VR4 could have improved there though ...

Nice pics :)

Not sure how fast I was able to do the hairpin in the VR4 when I went to Puke - wasn't really looking at the speedo at the time, but it was quicker than a lot of the other cars anyway (yay 4wd :2thumbsup). Pity you didn't get to take yours out.

They are really ugly aren't they? Compared to the 260kmh top speed of the M6, we were getting to the limiter with quite a bit of room to go on the straight, if I had to guess I would say we would have got to about 200-205kmh without the limiters.

There was one of the UK boys on here cruised at 240 in his VR4 on the autobahn a year and a bit ago if I remember rightly. Bloody limiter ....< gets out big wire cutters > and I reckon I could do the hairpin quicker in the VR4. Mind you we had to leave the TCL on in them, even the M6 was running with about 35% TCL due to the wet surface and it was still twitchy as ...

I'm sure our cars will get to 260, it's just a matter of finding a private test track :)

I guess I probably did that once on the A2... takes a while getting there though, 210-220km/h is a very comfortable autobahn cruising speed for a VR4 :afro:

I miss my car....

260kph = 162mph

Nobody managed it at the JTuner meet last year. I was shy of 140mph , I would have made 145 and possibly more (completely standard VR4) as I was still accelerating (slowly) but the 2mile straight just wasn't long enough :speechles

...it would take a very, very long straight and lot's of time to do it with 4 in the car.

or making a trip over to Germany.

Talking of which, what do people get up to around the Nurburgring? (in the VR4 of course)

Whilst the M6 doesnt bowl me over completely looks wise... it is still truly an awesome car I think... The pick up must be impressive
