Giving it good regular maintenance, am I dreaming, if I want to have this car for 20-25 years ? So long as parts are available ?

Seeing all the old classics we have around and my driving level 10,000 to 12,000 km a year. In 20-25 years, that will be a car with about 300,000km on the clock.

I imagine the price of fuel will put you off owning the car for that long!!!:Cry1:

Assume same kms a year. Salary has tripled, fuel is 20 times higher, say $20 a litre, due to expected shortages in the future.

hmmmm !!! :Ponder:

2003 = $40 a week about 3-5% of salary give or take a 1-2%
2023 = $800 per week about 7-10% of Salary give or take a 2-3%

Nah !!! It's still worth it. :cool1:

Would be great to have enough cash to buy a "spare" VR4 just to keep in storage :D

Eeek, I have done 8000kms in 6 weeks!

It hurts when I think I get about 20mpg, and fuel is £3.70 a gallon! That is nearly £1000 on fuel alone

:eek:

Bloody Hell Dave! OUCH!!!

Are you sure you don't want to do a swap for a 31mpg GLS, with added GLS power?!:D:D

I might just do that. Store 1 or 2 of them as spares. :cool1: I should be able to buy one for $5,000 in a few years. Have to look at the economics of that. :Ponder:

I will tend to keep mine reasonably stock. Minimal modifications, as the VR-4 has enough "grunt" for me anyhow. This alone may extend the life expectancy.

Can the electronics last that long ? Can I get 3rd party computers if the Mitsi' ones are no longer available ? Questions ? Questions ? Questions ? :Ponder:

Considering the following the original VR4 has in the US, I dont see why this shouldnt be the same, & get the same sort of following/knowledge pooling behind it amongst it's fans :)
