im getting real pi$$ed off. just sorted car out today and got it going 99.9% INSERT INTO post VALUES (need to sort a few things out) tryed my second boost controller and the same problem. checked all the wiring and it seems to be okay. my rev/speed meter and avc were fitted together and bulk off the wiring was same.

dave does yours blue light up straight away.

Turn the ignition on and hey presto sparkly blue display?

What seems to be the problem Mo?

I got all my wiring sorted out about 2 weeks before I did any of the plumbing in. I was using it as a boost gauge for a while!

?????

As you say all of the wiring should be the same/similar.

Can you get it to power up outside the car?

No mine pops up straight away, orange lights on and blue display with a slidy logo thing before getting to the menus. I take it you have tried pressing buttons?

One thing I did notice when installing it was that the REV signal came from a different pin on the ECU.......probably wont make any difference.

Take it out and try it on the bench. Mine worked straight off so I cant help I am afraid. Although I am struggling with my HKS FCD, I am wondering if there is some cunning current limiter that prevents too many devices being connected to the ECU power wiring? Just thinking out loud really but seems to tie in with my FCD problems........its as if it is not being powered!

Did you get it from the chap in the US? What did he say when you sent the 1st one back?

thats the guy who i got it from. cost bloody 8 quid each time i send it back. he just replaced it for me did do a voltage check on the apexi and shows 13 volts the rev signal was fine because apexi is rev speed is working fine. will do a bench test today.

Hoooooorrrraaaaay!

I have my a setting at 0.7bar at the moment and my B at 0.95.......I am suffering fuel cut though.

I can let you know the duty cycle for each 500RPM point for each of my settings if you like......it will give you a starting point if nothing else!

So what was the problem?

had a dry solder joint on the earth cable. would like the settings for gear change too.
my solonoid is disconnected yet need to put it together. im reading 0.79 bar as standard is that right? anything else i need to watch out for.

0.79 peak is probably about right, that will be an overshoot though, if you watch it.....no if you get a friend to watch it while you drive you will see its probably stable a lot lower than that.

I found the self learning gear change works, but I will let you know......probably be Sunday though.

OK here goes! Bear in mind the gear settings will be different for your car as the Saloon and Estate are geared differently........I have found that the automatic gear learning works fine.

The duty cycles for 0.7 bar that I am using are:

3000 49%
3500 49%
4000 49%
4500 49%
5000 49%
5500 52%
6000 58%
6500 57%

and for 0.95 bar INSERT INTO post VALUES (not fully tested because I keep getting fuel cut in the cold weather)

3000 65%
3500 65%
4000 57%
4500 56%
5000 62%
5500 75%
6000 78%
6500 80%

Again I think once you get the settings about right, the auto learning function sorts it all out.

When running 0.7 bar the gear adjusted settings are all 0%

and running 0.95 are as follows:

1 0%
2 0%
3 +2%
4 +2%
5 0%

and finally the gear change points are

main setting 255

1 120
2 70
3 50
4 35
5 25

Hope you have some success with these! All of the other settings are fairly straight forward and the instructions cover them quite well.

Let me know how you get on!

did a bit of fiddling and got to 1 bar INSERT INTO post VALUES (may have been over shoot) what a response feels great couldnt get to the menu for the gear change though :Ponder: .what will happen if ive set it too high. does it mean me looking out for another engine?
