:bigcry:I've just been struggling really hard in coping with the petrol costs, with the amount of driving I'm doing, my wallet just can't take it! I love her though, it's a wonderful car to drive and a dream to own, I'm sure in the future when I have a bit more cash I'll buy another one, this is my second galant already. I'm thinking of part exchanging it in for another car.
Can you let me know what you reckon on price it's an 51 reg Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 estate, 47000 miles, full mitsubishi service history apart from the current oil change I have yet to do and I have amsoil to do that with, I've just bought 1 years tax for it and it's due an mot in november but it will breeze through that no problem. I looked on Parkers and it's listed at just over £10000 for p/x, is this an overly hopeful amount? I'd like to ideally sell it to someone on here, it's were it deserves to be! If anyone is interested please let me know I'm really open to offers.

Sorry to hear this Jay. Can't you buy a snotter like kieran and I have to offset the costs. VR-4's are very cheap to run when you don't drive them. My Pug 106 Diesel only cost £460 ebay special and runs really well while getting 58/60mpg every journey.

Price wise, I reckon you might have to take a hit buddy as prices have fallen alot recently. £8K should be achievable, possibly more with the right buyer.

Also, any news on the Group Buy Mate?

Oh no, sorry to hear that Jason - hope you can find a way round it, as I know you were looking forward to getting it on the track at Donny.

Good luck with whatever you decide :2thumbsup

Oh no Jase....it's a situation that hits most of us at some point or another, so I totally understand where you're at.

Fingers crossed you can find a way to keep it....alternatively you could always sell it and buy an older VR4?

Cheers guys, I was really nervous about telling you lot that I might be selling up through fear of being lynched /haz I did look into buying a golf etc for work but they introducing a parking scheme in our area soon (F***ing council!!!) and they're charging so much for each car parked there and there's limited space. It's not set in stone that I'll sell her yet, we'll see how it goes. I'm going on holiday in 2 months and I'm trying to save for it and that's when I've noticed how little extra I have.

Steve, I spoke to them several times, and they've said that they're waiting for the tools to be returned. I'm gonna send them an e-mail telling them to leave me off the list and if they're not too much longer the rest of the people will be interested, really sorry, it's bloody annoying, we've got all this business for them and they just muck us about!

£8K? Yeah, I thought 10K was a bit high, well I'll aim for 8-9, see what I can get.

Don't sell it, sell a kidney instead.....

The black market for body parts is booming at the mo. so should buy you at least enough fuel to last a few weeks!

:)

I'm sure there is a way to do it Jayjay, how much is the council fee?

Sorry to hear this. Is it possible to rent a garage somewhere? I know prices in Surrey will be crazy compared to Scotland, but I pay my local council £6/week for a lock-up about 1/2 mile from my house. Not only does it give my neighbours more space to park (and gives me peace of mind as well), but it keeps the beast just far enough out of reach that I can keep my usage down to every other weekend. The rest of the time I do like Keiran and commute by ghastly little econobox - although my Escort 1.6 struggles to achieve 40mpg, which rather defeats the point of the damn thing.

Anyway, remember that the car (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Galant_VR-4) and its pristine engine bay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_6A1x_engine#6A13) have been immortalised for posterity as fine examples of the breed. Just don't visit those pages after you sell it... they'll only depress you.

Nooooo don't do it.
I paid £11k for mine just over a year ago (W with 57k on it), very very similar car, dark blue with the carbon dash and all-leather Nardi, but with leather and 18" BBS - £8k seems a little lowish at the moment considering your's is a 51 with only 47k on it, damn those petrol prices - that's why these £30k+ cars are so cheap now. And in your case, damn the council's new parking policy too /Grrr
Have to admit, if I did more miles than I do (used to do 15k a year, now down to half that), I'd have to consider a change, but anything with similarly nutty performance is going to be just as juicy.
You'll miss it you know

I don't know as yet, they haven't told us but I think it'll be the kind of thing where it's a space per household, crap isn't it!

I have kept an eye out for garages but they're about five times more expensive here and they're always full :(
Oh, it would be depressing going to that site after. On my way home last night, I was stopped at traffic lights and there was a couple of guys in a merc sitting next to me and I saw one pointing to the car and mouthing to the other "Now that's a f**king nice motor" I was thinking imagine if he knew what was under the bonnet so as the lights changed I opened her up to give them a taste, love to know what they thought, needless to say I didn't see them again :) I love it when people double take at the VR-4 makes me proud to be an owner, we'll see how things go, either way, I'll no doubt own one again someday.
