Never thought I'd hear myself saying this about a car, but it looks a LOT better with Gold wheels.

A Mitsubishi Galant?

Indeed mate, and I quote:

"
Think that the only high-performance version of the Mitsubishi Galant is the VR4 AWD turbo? Guess again! If you’re a fan of naturally aspirated performance, you’ll love the Japanese market Galant AMG."

My Dad had one of these back in the day. Very similar except he had a larger AMG spoiler fitted to his. He drove it hard and by the time he traded it a few years later it was in pretty bad shape. Anyway not a bad car as I recall.

There's a Mitsubishi Motors Web Museum (http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/corporate/museum/e/index.html) which has links to the different generations of the Galant (via 'History of Products'), or you could browse the 'Mitsubishi Auto Gallery', which has photos of their actual bricks'n'mortar museum in Okazaki.

I think he means he paid 700 quid to the seller in Japan, and shipping, customs and registration fees accounted for the rest.

However his customs fess seem a bit steep, and £450 to get the car to the docks in Japan. I thought Japan was a small place !

As for his comment about losing money on all his car, if he is losing so much why bother ?

It does look like a nice old thing though, sort of supersized Evo 2 !!!

Except (as my Handy JDM 6G brochure tells me) it has all the performance of a cathedral. It's powered by a tweaked 2.0 n/a 4G63 and knocked out (on Jap fuel) 170ps. So it's no ball of fire.

Still an interesting car though...

Cheap if it sold at that price.

If i had the space I would have taken it.
