hello there,
Iam from czech republic, and I wan't to buy galant 2.0 1997+ 4-cylinder, because of most of the time I'm driving in a town, and such as student i haven't enaught money to live with the V6 :(

I want to know, if some things is generaly higly recommended on the model which i want to buy to improve. (for example I red that V6 needs better brakes and springs, etc.) I mean, that I want buy a car witch will be probably complete stock, and what things I need to replace. 'for example which wheel dimensions is the best, tyres, which oil (i red that gearbox needs a very specific one) etc.."

Than, I love VR4 sport looks of the car, so if it is possible to buy some decent body-kit to improve the looks of the car? some very decent spoilers etc...

Do you know, which versions have optitron dashboard?

So generaly i want to know all about the car, before I buy it, because I must know all plus and cons (realy no much money :( )

Sorry for my s simple English, sadly it's not my native. I hope you can understand me.

Best regards

welcome , must say your english is better than some of the members who use it as their native toungue(nz/pan ) if you want the VR4 looks with the 2.0 engine go for a sport , the V6 isn't much more to run and the brakes only show their crapness on a track or very twisty back roads , also say hello to all those lovely ladies you have over there , i used to work with a lad from brno ( just round the corner from the very excellent race track) and he reckons they were all as good as the ones we see over here :2thumbsup

Thank you a lot for welcome :)
so galants sport are all 2.5 V6 ? I think this is the main problem between the intellect and the heart :) As i wrote, i'm 90% in a town (prague) with a lot of traffic jams and not enaught space to parking... The Angel says buy ford focus, but the Devil screams Galant! :) I love the front, i hope my next-next car will be EVO X :)

The other problem is, that there are not many galants in Czech at all, and I don't know if I can find 2.0 or 2.5 in a black or some other very dark colour (is available any color-sheet / paint code?) and especialy V6 sport. Are they many differences between V6 and V6 sport except the body kit? I'm a student (with not much income, my bussines is webdesign company) so I affraid, that I will have not enaught money to buy V6 (sport).
Here in Czech, i have two offers (but wrong colours, so only for example)
V6 2.5 137 000km and in4 2.0 210 000km both for 4100 EUR. I don't know the condition and i don't know, how much I have to pay after buy..(but there are a lot of cars witch cost twice that much. Those are 1997)

P.S.: thanks for the girls :) I was in Brno race track two-times (both FIA-GT weekends) because my good friend is a racer and I'm his big fan ;)
When I was in UK and Scotland, i was absolutely fascinated with cleanness, nature and people's behavior ;)

EDIT: this is probably one of the best looking galant I have found..

If my car can looks that for a bargain...... :/

what i meant was they do a 2.0 sport and a 2.5 sport , they look identical until you open the bonnet and the 2.0 engine bay is empty
Mmmm brno , always good for bike racing , and a party by all accounts

Hey whizz, that was my old VR4 you posted a pic of there :2thumbsup

It's now owned by another member who is currently upgrading it to hopefully exceed 500bhp.

Hope you like my current one just as much ? http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=4

Hello, congrats ! Beautiful and excelent work /notworthy
If I can choose, I love your old car little more, because It is more "road legal" :)
But anyway both are super!

So, is any chance to modify my next Galant standard (if I will buy it) to something like your old one? I found maybe your website (or currnet owner's) and for example it was be written that only the wheels are L1100 and that is nearly half the price of the car witch I want to buy :(

yes I think the 2.5 come with standard auto air conditioner (digital) and 2.0 don't I think.

Didn't Sport version have other plastic(around the aircon/radio) in the cabin? I saw three versions - wood(ugly), dark gray and silver...

Hi again. Iam still looking for, and now I have found this:
http://eng.autoscout24.com/home/index/detail.asp?ts=7157785&id=hkyalbqacup&sc=&make=50&model=1882&pricefrom=0&euroto=0&zip=

in the attachement are more photos.

sad that it is only 2.0. It has no electric seats (the first car ever i have seen with manual seats adjust.). The ownser wrote, that the car has a little rust on the left backsite, and the antenna doesn't work (maybe in reason with the aftermarket CD player). The car has no badge on a back and a rust, is it posible that it was crashed? What do you think about it? It costs 5.5k EUR

Quite expensive car like for german market. In UK for that quote You could have 2000 year 2.5 V6 sport in good condition (for example mine :P )

oh dear, thats great.. Why the hell you must have wheel on the right :)

When Iam browsing german sites, it seems that this is one of the cheapest black sport I can find. If you know some good source, i will be happy/notworthy

the galant is a superb car however, parking it is a different matter.
i found that the standard ride of the galant was lovely couldnt throw it around corners without it feeling as if its going to tip over.
and i found that my new one which is lowered stiffer springs strut brace, air filter glides around corners lovely but hit a bump and your back will be broken in half.

either way if you get a galant you will not regret it, they get better and better everyday, yesterday whilst wiring in my sub into the boot of my silver one, i noticed under the dash you can actually fit severall small children in there loads of room, and loads of places to run amp cables.
usually it takes me about 4hours to put a system in to a car, because i like to do it right, yesterday it took me 3 hours and that included building a sub box running the wires all hidden away and neatly.

superb cars they cant get any better, well they can if they have 2 turbos slapped under the bonnet

hello,

yes, I wanted it, but Marcel didn't reply to my mail as he said.
nevertheless because of some reasons I will be happy if I can spend 5000 EUR for a galant sport, I think that is no way to have modded vr4 :bigcry:
