Ok, so I have finally found a decent tuner with a 4WD rolling road.

At the moment the car has a Fujitsubo exhaust, Super Power Flow filter, Iridium plugs and a BDA de-cat pipe.

It needs to be tuned, but how?

I am not an expert by any means and need some direction./help

What I am after is a faster, but reliable motor.:2thumbsup

This is the company I'm looking at, anybody in the know care to have a look at what they have available and advise me.

Hi Roberto!

I'm no expert, but i reckon the next thing would be a boost increase to take you over the magic 300bhp barrier :2thumbsup

You need raised boost and fuel mapping. They can be done individually, but if you raise the boost without mapping fuel either be cautious or let the garage set it up!

You should get well in to the 300's with the two items above.

I would suggest a fuel controller and a boot controller, and possibly a fuel pump as well, the stock one will start to run out of oomf at that level of power.

I now have two companies on the go.

One offers, fuel computer plus boost controller.

The other more expensive option is an APEXI ECU plus boost controller.

Both will be set up by the companies on 4WD rolling roads.

Is there a real compelling reason to pay the extra for the ECU?

Is it an Apexi Power FC ECU, if it is then I would definately recommend that you go with that option because they are very good ECU's.

An ECU will give you full control over every aspect of engine performance, rather than just fuel and boost.

I don't believe Apexi makes the PowerFC for the VR4's....Perhaps it's a SAFC?

The only details furnished so far are the ECU is a APEXI ROAD ECU.

It is the more expensive option, but is it really worth it?

In most cases it's not what you've got...it's how it's set up. Having the 'goods' doesn't guarantee you big outputs unless it's tuned correctly, otherwise you may end up losing performance....and that's a big no no!
