Maybe not crap. 'Tis a clever bit of kit. But the autobox is the one thing that I am constantly concerned about on my car, from the reliability side of things. So I can kind of see where he is coming from.

I've never had an automatic before and was very impressed when I got mine. But if I had the choice now, I would swap it for a manual anyday. Just for peace of mind.

NAUSED owns a 7G VR4, and the autos are alot worse than the 8G triptronics,

no we dont have any discounts for conversions that im aware of,

and IMO its not really worth it, sell you auto and buy a manual if your really keen on one,

its alot less hassel and alot cheaper in the long run,

Mitsi mechanics and trans rebuilders will tell you these boxes need constant servicing and oil coolers or they will give problems.

Your better off trading it like Gly said and getting a manual

I did a manual conversion on my 7G... used an Evolution 3 gearbox and moved the starter and release bearing for it to fit on the V6 block... worked like a charm
