Hello all

Hyeline (http://www.hyeline.com)are organising a Track Day at Llandow in South Wales to take place on Saturday 26th August 2006. Hyeline are sponsoring the day, so it's only going to cost £75.

Maximum 30 cars, and it's open pit lane, so come and go as you please!

Apparently it's a really nice circuit - just over 1 mile round, and run by very helpful people.

The track day is open to anyone/any car - I saw it advertised on the 350z-uk forum, and the wife and I will be taking the Z. It would be great to see some VR4's there... so I can bum a ride!

Payment Details: Telephone Hyeline on 02920 709191 and pay by credit/debit card. Be quick!

---
Fancy a 450 BHP Legnum?????

I was chatting to Kenso at Hyeline - he can get all sorts of VR4 stuff, including a 450BHP engine upgrade :o:o:o. I'm waiting for him to email me details and prices, but looks like he may be a good source of bits and bobs. I'll post info in a new thread as soon as I have it.

Sounds interesting, it will be very interesting to see what mods they propose, you won't get that much on the stock turbos.

I took my old broken one to see if kenso could read the ecu, as he is japanese.
I dont think they had seen one until last year.

And i could get you a £450 VR4 engine upg:inquisitirade  But you probably wouldn't like the price to much /pan

Haven't heard anything - will chase up tomorrow.

If you look at the Hyeline webpage (http://www.hyeline.com) you'll see that I'mgoing to get swamped by flippin skylines on the track day. SOMEONE with a VR4 get your bum down there!!!

75 quid for a track day.... /Wave

I'd love to come to llandow, but i'm away to the biggest LAN party the UK has seen, 1000 BYOC i28 multiplay @ newbry race course. Yes i'm a puter games freak!

I emailed hyeline today as i want some mods to the car, brembos, apexi boost controller and a service.

I've also asked about this mod, must be a pretty mental one more power than a MR FQ400 :smitten: , but must cost mega mega bucks.
Would that mean a galant/legnum could do the 0-60 in 3.5 seconds? /Hyper :beerbang:

I spoke to Kenso fairly recently and the projected 450bhp is a Turbo out job and in with the new.

I am at Hyeline next Tuesday (15th), So as I am there for the day I will try to gather some info and he will probably twist my arm into going to llandow track day I know its a day for tuning your motors to the max, So the Monster Skyline peeps will be there in force as Bernmc said in prev post.

I am gettin my new Zorst 3" cat back, but if the front of my zorst is as rusty and corroded as the back, I may be having the whole lot /haz

How much? And I guess you also need the £2k manifolds?

I'll take three, please!

:speechles :speechles :speechles

That spec is impressive, but it's so overpriced, it's beyond ridiculous!

:thinking:I notice that a lot of that is PROs-IIda stuff - top make, but even then, £2300 for a hard pipe kit is absolutely crazy./pan

For heaven's sake.... A PROs FPR for £255+VAT when a SARD one will cover you to ~450bhp and costs less than a ton?:inquisiti

I think the question should be, who can hit that power figure and/or beat it -and for how much less cash??

Dave and Derek (to name but two) have knocked 330bhp+ for a fifth of the quoted price of the 360bhp tweaks!

That's the one thing that gets on my nerves about tuning one of the more esoteric Japanese cars.... everyone thinks that gives them a licence to print money!! /grr

Dan_G

Theres not an uprated /forged conrod, piston or crankshaft to be seen....

Are we saying the engine internals can take 450bhp?

Nutter_John
09-08-2006, 08:47 PM
Well spotted Dan , maybe thats a question to ask them .

What I will say is the prices are beyond funny , I nearly passed out with shock . I would have thought the whole lot the are suggesting would be in the region of 5-8k max

for example £1880 for a intercooler - WRD can get a custom made one for £450ish

If its £25k for 450bhp then wtf is going to be to get the power that Kev AP is going to be running ?

If you want 450bhp for £25k, you could quite easily buy any number of other Jap cars, mildly tune them and have change.

Was the bloke serious or do you think he doesn't want the business?

I had a word document attached to an email. It was all laid out nicely so I think this is serious !.

As I live near cardiff, and i've been down there with my last legnum, i asked for a service, brembo upgrade and the apexi boost controller.

I enquired about this thread "450BHP", and got the reply.
It's way out of most peoples budget, unless you pick all 6 numbers on saturday.

Yeah, it's just so much money for such little extra power. £25k pumped into alot of cars would get you nearer to double that I should think.

I bet you could put a RB26DETT into your Leggy and tune it for less than that.

bradc
10-08-2006, 12:05 PM
you wouldn't get an RB26DETT into our engine bay, they are designed for a long engine bay with a north-south engine, our engine bay is neither of those.

For about NZ$10k you'll get yourself about 380hp that is 100% reliable, and for another $8k you'll get a pair of gt25r's which can do 550hp, although at that level you may want to start forging things which will cost a lot more. I've already done the first stage, now I just need to get my turbos done :D

Trouble is though Isaac, they are too good for their own good. No quirks, no character nothing to love about them. My £25k would go on something with a bit more character. I'd love a fully restored Jenson Interceptor for instance.

The wife and I will be going down in the Z. We just want to be able to play with it and learn it's quirks in a safe environent, so not being able to hit 150 on the straights is not going to bother us.

Don't you know that sort of thing's impossible in a 350Z anyway? So much for sports cars & women eh.

that is some markup they are making the PROS Turbos are £1300 +shipping +import etc... they are charging £1938 for them.

I contacted PROS Engineering almost 2 years ago an they said that they no longer do them. If anyone does want to try imporing stuff from PROS Engineering contact Tokyo Express (http://www.tokyo-express.co.uk) they are superb for importing parts and normally negotiate a discount on website prices.

All the PROS catalogue is available at http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=ja_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.diana.dti.ne.jp%2f%7ecarplu s%2fmitsubishi%2fec5.html

£19,933 ----> 37,489.9 USD in todays rates? Without VAT? :thinking2
Their prices are out of sync with reality.
Although I can understand why...

I think 450HP kit can be put together for much less than that.
~15000$ or 8000£ should do it... although it should support more HP than stated (the turbos will be rated up to 600HP, injectors, ignition and fuel pump up to 500HP), but I doubt the engine will hold it together reliably above some level...

Should include the following:

- piggyback with all needed adjustments *
- full exhaust including downpipes *
- custom lowpressure+highpressure pipes *
- upgraded intercooler *
- upgraded blowoff *
- upgraded wires and racing plugs *
- upgraded fpr and fuel pump with re-wire kit *
- twin plate metalaceramic clutch kit+flywheel *
- new turbos with custom exhaust side plates&pipes**
- custom manifolds **
- bigger injectors **
- ignition amplifier **
- oilcooler kit **
- upgraded front brake disks and pads ***
- upgraded springs and shocks ***
- external wastegates ****
- evo bonnet ****

//everything's brand new
* stage 1
** stage 2
*** stage 3
****optional (additional costs)

Orders? I thought so... ;)
