chrome/alloy header tanks

Header tanks? What are they for i keep seeing them for sale in boyracer magazines.The chrome finish looks quite good but what are they for.A few shiney add ons might look good under the bonnet. Any ideas?

Yeah, you can get them for screenwash, coolant, power steering and such.

Problem with them as I see it is that it's much harder to gauge how full the tanks are.
