Just placed my Amsoil order. Planning to do the engine oil change next weekend and the ATF change some time after that. For anyone that's interested I ordered:

- 5 litres of the TSO 0W-30 Series 2000 for the engine
- 12 litres of the ATF for the gearbox
- SDF-20 oil filter
- engine flush

And I got 10% off for being a Club VR-4 member. So, that's paid for membership already :2thumbsup

Thanks to Keiran for the details of exactly whats needed :2thumbsup

I couldn't see an gearbox oil flush on there - I assume it's not available yet. Is it going to be?

Now I just need to find somewhere that will change my AYC fluid :inquisiti

No worries on what's needed!:2thumbsup I asked about gearbox flush and the answer from the Amsoil guys in the US (Don referred to them) was they don't supply one and they have no intention of doing so. I think it boiled down to concerns over whether or not the flush would do more harm than good - you've got a lot more than just metal rubbing on metal in there. However, the Amsoil ATF has got a pretty strong detergent base anyway, so it should deal with gum/varnish/whatever deposits over time.

If you need an ATF flush, then try LubeGuard (it's mentioned my my flush article). Can't say if it helped as the ATF in the box when I did that change was completely barbecued anyway, but neither has it trashed anything either.

About £172 :5shots:

I did the engine oil/filter change on Saturday (along with the flush) and the motor is running sweet as a nut now.

I'm not planning to do the ATF until after Japfest II as it looks a good condition and was done not too long ago.

Ordered the same oils plus severe gear oil for the diff and had the AYC fluid changed. Car felt superb, especially the gear changes.

Would recommend doing the ATF even if the oil was replaced recently. My ATF looked fine but wasnt the correct grade as Amsoil is. Noticed an immediate difference when it was replaced.

Thank you for the feedback of the success you have had, The gearbox should now improve with time and the amsoil errodes the residual deposits and varnish over time. It can be hard work trying to convince people that just a differnet oil can make that much difference! The gearbox is the easly one as most people can feel it straight away; the hard one is the engine oil as it cannot be noticed so easily but does perhaps have a more marked and longer term effect.
