NZ Herald (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=1&ObjectID=10392823) reports
Paymark Eftpos yesterday released figures showing more than 5 billion electronic transactions have been carried out since the system was introduced in 1989.
These days an impressive - or possibly frightening - 2 million electronic transactions are carried out daily.

I wonder what other countries are like. I certainly like it, and do not worry about the banks tracking all my spending. I have nothing to hide.

I prefer to carry a small amount of cash with me constantly, I'll never get an eftpos card. They are just too dangerous, I'd spend way too much money with it ;)

I find if I carry cash im more likely to spend  im backwards... Im less likely to use my eftpos card as I get hammered on bank fees when I do.

The trick is to get say $100 cash on monday and say it is going to last you for the whole week on petrol, lunches, etc.

I think if I had an eftpos card I'd spend a lot more money because I'd think that $20 or so for lunch everyday would be fine, but over a month or so it would add up to huge money.

Cashless Society ..??
I'm always cashless, it all goes into the petrol tank .... /Grrr

My wife won't let me have cash, says I'll spend it on wasteful things ... like wine and beer. :5shots:
