Hi all!

First of all, tops looking site! I'm glad to have found it.

Australia has just recently allowed importing and compliancing of the EC5A Galant variants so I'm on the list for one from Japan, not having much luck though...Don't really know where to look (ideas?)

Anyway, I currently drive a 1993 Mitsubishi TR Magna, you may know this as a Diamante. Us convicts only got the SOHC 12v 6G72 3.0l V6 version, but we did get 5 speed manuals. I have one of these, I then got myself a DOHC 24v 6G72 3.0l V6 from a non turbo 3000GT and whacked that in. Direct bolt in swap and with a bit of electrical work the thing was running off a factory computer (which meant no engineer signatures were required...saved lots of $$$).

The end result was a car that once did high 16's was now doing high 14's on a rather average run! Not bad for a $AU2800 investment

I've done other mods to it but I won't really go into much detail since it's not a VR4 Galant. I'll just post one quick pic of it:

Can't wait to get my Galant and palm this off to my lovely lady. I did have a DOHC 24v 6G74 3.5l for the magna...but it won't be going in anymore. It would've been monstrous - 194kW and 323Nm stock n/a! Ah well...thems the brakes I spose! :D

Looking forward to reading up lots of info on here...cheers!
-Paul

Oooh - the Mitsu Sigma (what us Limeys know the Diamante/Magna as)... super comfy luxo-barge!:afro:

Didn't fancy the 6G72TT in there then? Bet that would be.... 'interesting'!! Mind you, compliance would be a right pain I guess!

I haven't seen an 8G over there at all, owning a facelift type s wagon over there would be something!

Have you considered buying one from NZ? Prices are really low at the moment and shipping would probably be less from here than from Japan.

Cheers guys! The wheels come from the 3rd gen magna VRX...bought them for next to nothing! :D

The TT swap would've meant engineering reports and certificates, meaning a hell of a lot more cost, going N/A was enough for me :D

Just a quick one guys, did the 99 model VR4's come with AYC? That's a Type S isnt it?

Thanks :D

Oh and thanks for that link too!

For a bit of comic relief, here's me dressed up as Vyvyan for a fancy dress party lol:

I thought I recognised those mags! For VR-4's lots of members have got EVO 5-8 wheels because they fit over brembo's and are fairly cheap.

If a 99 model has the wheel arches, AYC then it is a type S. If you have a look at my gallery, then have a look at Kalle, you'll see what the wheel arches look like, my car has them and Kalle's doesn't.

Cool thanks mate! I see what you mean by those wheel arches. I'll definitely be on the lookout for them.

We do have a couple of Aristo's over here, but they aren't that popular. I did notice them on their site too :)

The 2001 model there is the only Type S out of those 3 links that I provided, those others have the boring model dash, and as such won't have AYC
