The entrance tickets are £8 per person in advance (or £12 on the day), and track time is either £25 for one session or £60 for three sessions. The stand is free of charge.

As many of you also know, one of the committee members (Heath of HJM) is celebrating his 40th birthday that week, so many of the club are staying over the Friday and/or Saturday night to join in the festivities.

4: Noise restrictions will apply and you will be soundtested (limit - 98db) - the soundtesting is a drive by test - if you fail you will be black flagged !

Donovan - Having driven several Soarer TTs, I would say you're asking for trouble if your tyres are worn... In my experience, the TTs are skittish cars anyway - they feel very nervous and 'twitchy' when you start to open them up.

Much more importantly though - any car with worn out tyres is a danger to yourself and others on track.....

oh nah my tires are fine but I was just curious thats all , I will get a new set of rear 235's soon , before the meet , the ones that are on there now have about 65-70 percent tread...

Thanks for the words guys. My biggest worry is that I am SOOOOO competitive, and seeing cars go by me is going to be like a red rag to a bull. I enjoy pushing the car on the 'private tracks' near where I live but its a different matter when there is a track full of cars who are as fast, if not faster in most cases.

I am sure that all will be well, but there is also the strain on the car that I have to consider. I am sure that all the nerves, adrenalin and worries will disappear after the first session....but its the lead up to that first session where I have the nerves, adrenalin and worries that is bothering me :P

Exactly how I felt at JF earlier in the year, once your on track though it all goes away and you really enjoy it, I'm feeling similiar now even though i've experienced it already.
Push your car as hard or soft as you want, I thought I was doing alright last year until Marcus past me like I was going backwards and proceeded to literally throw it through the next chicane, was good to see how the car can really handle though.

Are you serious? I don't see why not - when I spoke to them about Steve's mates Pug, they said they would prefer all Jap but that they don't really have any control over what people bring.

I think everyone would prefer you to be on the track rather than off it - even if it is in a Saab /yes

Hey Guys I have some disappointing news...
I will not be able to run my car at the meeting at Japfest now , There was a problem with my pay this mid month and my funds wont allow me to participate in the event of the track :sad3: , how ever I'm still going to be able to come and see the rest of the team run Donington PARK!:evilgrin:

This is a disappointment at the moment , but I just remembered hell...Im in this country for a minimum of 2 years... and I will probably extend! So I will get more track time , and hell even these round a bouts are basically drift school for me haha!!:2thumbsup

Thanks for the words guys. My biggest worry is that I am SOOOOO competitive, and seeing cars go by me is going to be like a red rag to a bull. I enjoy pushing the car on the 'private tracks' near where I live but its a different matter when there is a track full of cars who are as fast, if not faster in most cases.

I am sure that all will be well, but there is also the strain on the car that I have to consider. I am sure that all the nerves, adrenalin and worries will disappear after the first session....but its the lead up to that first session where I have the nerves, adrenalin and worries that is bothering me :P

One thing to keep in mind is, everyone wants to take there car home in 1 piece and no one wants to have there session ruined because someones been pushing to hard and has had an off that has stopped there session.. :o Keep these 2 things in mind and you should have fun and safe day. It's not the place to find the extreme limits of your car, that should be left to a big wide airfield or empty track :) Driving the track properly by hitting all the correct braking points, turn in points and apex's will reward you far more than just ragging the car, as if you get all these right there won't be many people passing you /Poms

Two screws 1 "in" glove box then pull dont be scared LOL

There's actually 2 screws in the glovebox, one top right and one bottom right. I usually remove the glovebox for ease too - this involves removing the two screws that hold it in place too. Then on the side panel there is a push in plastic button and a further screw to remove - both along the bottom of it. Then it should come away.

late comers are not to much of a prob but as this going to be a big event and there are people waiting on the list to come on the stand, please don't leave it to late as i don't think it will be fair on people at the show but cant get on the stand with empty spaces on it.

As for the run in there is normally a drive in to the show may be from the hotel that every body is staying in I'm sure some 1 will start a thread for the drive in.

Donovan, if there is the slightest chance that you cannot be on the stand at an early stage (say 10am) then I feel it is right you should pass your space over to a reserve.....especially as two of them are full members too.

Plus, you may find the organisers may not allow latecomers onto the stand anyway due to the public walking around etc, often they ask for us to be in place before the event opens to the public.

The passes are not related to cars (Im assuming its the same as Japfest Castle Combe and Trax!) ie session A will have cars 1-30 say, and as long as you display the tickets in the screen u get out on track.......SO..........i will swap my three sessions with Rich (assuming when we get the tickets it is the same as the previous events)

DONT inform the organisers as this will confuse them and they dont need to know, in their eyes nothing will have changed as they'll have the same number of cars in each session.............

........just hope i dont get a load of slow Skylines in my session! :lipseal :uhoh2: or fast 3000 GTO's /Hmmm

It was my first time out at JF1. Just go at your own speed there is no pressure
to go quickly. I was pretty slow on the first session a bit quicker on the second
but still Sunday driver performance. The advantage of being on track with
other CVR4 members is they don't want to scratch their pride and joy either.

This may be used by anyone who wishes to meet up with the hotel crowd before entering Donington.

I suggest you wait at the point I've arrowed. The hotel convoy will be following the direction of the small arrows. If you park up and then watch for our convoy on the roundabout and join in.

I would suggest that you wait at that point from 07.30 as we are leaving Leicester at 07.15. I'm sure someone can phone you when we are close to you.

Tickets have arrived...woohoo!! My head is average size...erm....medium I reckon (if you have a skid-lid going spare).

I have read through some of the gumf and it says that 'Donnington isn't to be used as a racetrack and racing speeds are not allowed' it then goes on to say that 'screeching tyres will be an indication of inappropriate speeds and may get you the yellow card'!!! Is this just BS or are we going for a Sunday drive?

I would guess that they are covering their a$$es as far as their insurance is concerned.

Screeching tyres are indicative of the car reaching it's limit of adhesion and with so many 'untrained' drivers on the track it's probably a good warning. NO racing is allowed at ANY track day, so nothing particularly new Col.

'Racing' will be determined by the Marshals. I don't know what criteria they use but should two or more cars be seen to be driving extremely close to each other and consistently trying to overtake each other, then 'racing' would probably be determined.

I recollect two guys is similar cars being removed from the track after they both skidded off the track at the same place - because they were deemed as racing.

However, you will be given full details about this matter at the briefing before going on track.

I would suggest to you that if you are on the track and you see anyone driving in a manner that you think is unsafe in any way ........ drop back or move over and let them pass and keep well away - things can happen extremely quickly. Hard concentration at ALL times is imperative. A simple glance at your speedo at the wrong time may have tragic results. Keep a close eye on your rear view mirror.

As far as track insurance - it's very expensive. I know bernmc buys insurance when he tracks his Z so have a word with him.

If you cost out a normal trackday then this is additional cost which many people don't bother with - and take the gamble.

The MLR don't book track time at JF's or Trax, 'cos they can't generally fill it - so we didn't do badly with 20 odd cars :guitarist

Unexpectedly free this weekend, so just booked my place... through the 350Z forum :o hee hee. £6.50 wouldyabelieve it. The Z will be there (although I have yet to ask the owner if I can take it ;)) on the 300Z/350ZX club stand, and I'll come and find you lot. Sadly the VR4 is in no state to travel - it's just a bit hairy with the dodgy suspension bush.

Not sure that direction Wayne, but there is Shardwell (or is it Shardlow?) on the A50 which might be a suitable "small" diversion to take en-route to the track tomorrow? Corley services on the M6 are shell, but you'll be bypassing that route....I think J16 services on the M1 are BP....not many options. There's the one Rich reminded me about which is 4 miles away from the hotel - I could direct us all there before we get too :runkest: if you like.

Phew! Just back in KieranCorp Towers, all safe and sound.

We're totally knackered after a 20 hour day, but it was worth it.t

The track sessions were a blast. Alex and I went out as Suicide Seat passengers in turn with Physician, followed by Brunty (with Alex) and Nick Mann (with me).

The morning session was bone dry and Physician took an absolutely no holds barred approach to his driving, demonstrating his finely honed ability behind the wheel, his knowledge of the circuit and his 'feel' for the car he has. We were hooning around at what felt like warp factor ten! I still have molecules that have not righted themselves after such a rigorous re-arranging!/thankyou

By the way, if you're reading this and you're the prat with the black supra and an ego to match the size of your exhaust tailpipe, well I hope you've learnt your lesson - Your attempt to out corner us, nearly causing you to side-swipe us was proof that you don't deserve such a special car. So there! /pan

Session two was just after a short sharp shower. Making the track extremely slippery. Donnington has a lot of standing water and with all the aviation fuel that the passing jets keep dropping, it turns into a veritable ice rink!

And I was in Nick Manns car, with full boost and no AYC, just to make the experience that more interesting! However, Nick kept a lid on things, and made an particularly impressive 'catch' when we went over a particularly greasy area of track at the end of the start/finish straight and had a little 'moment', shall we say?!/Devil5 Bloody well done Nick!

Heath's evening do was brilliant. It was great fun, and there are loads of Stories to tell!/Devil5 /Devil5 However that's for tomorrow when I'm more awake I think.
