If you want a nice personal numberplate, the DVLA are issuing the '04' Style plates soon - you can buy them from November 3rd...

Why the fuss??

Consider this... Available for £499 all in....

VR04 GAL :devil2:

Unfortunately Kieran, the Police / DVLA get a little upset if you try to misrepresent the age of a car by putting on a 'newer' registration plate. You just can't do it, unfortunately.

Well, why is it available as a cherished Registration then?!:confused:

That seems daft!!

DVLA let you purchase a plate from them and then keep it 'on transfer' INSERT INTO post VALUES (i.e not on a vehicle) for an indefinite period, subject to an annual fee of £25.

As you can probably guess, I know this because I did just this in 2001 when the 'W' plates came out.

I just need to keep saving for a 2001 model VR4 then I can put my W1RDY plate on it!!
INSERT INTO post VALUES (my Dad has temporary custody of it, on his Peugeot, hence saving me the £25 per annum fee)

You mean year 2000 don't you? ;)

2001 = Y & 51
2000 = W & X
1999 = T & V

Just trying to save you some cash!! :D

Oops, yes. You're correct. A 2000 model is what I need!

Just been looking....

L3 GNM is already taken, but

L5 GNM is only £240! ;)

G4 LNT is taken. Couldn't find G41 ANT either!

Not sure I want a plate that is car specific - you change the car and the investment in the plate dies. But for only £240?

Couldn't find anything with VR4 in, but the search I was using wasn't user friendly.

If you're interested, try some of these links Nick, most of the cheaper Reg plate dealers are listed.
