Folks,

I need your help.

I need to send Gly some money, he has managed to source a Waterpump for my lancer.

I would rather not send it direct from Bank to bank as it will cost me an extra NZ$ 75.

Do one of you have a Paypal account so that I can send the cash to? And then maybe you could pass it on to Gly?

Or if you have any other ideas please let me know.

Can't you post a cheque?

Can't you post a cheque?

What.. a normal UK bank cheque? Will that be accepted in another country?

Cheque in a foreign currency will take weeks to clear and cost money at the NZ end (or at least that's how it works the other way around).

There are a few peeps in NZ with paypal accounts though, I'm sure :)

Western Union (https://www.westernunion.co.uk) want £12 for a £30 transfer if that's any help. They only want £14 for a £100 transfer though. Don't know how much you're sending.

Yeah I had thought about Western Union, and it will be about £85 that I will be sending.... I just figure if someone has a Paypal account it will be cheaper.

I could then send the £12 as booze money! :beerchug:

Hi paypal charge 25 pence + 3.4% to receive any money up to £1500 but do not charge you anything to send it. You would have to send a bit more to whom you are sending the money to to cover their fees though. I have a paypal account if you need any help.

So It'll cost £3.14 to send £85 via Paypal.

If Western Union turns out to be too expensive let me know, I have a paypal account and would be willing to pass the funds on to Gly.

Wouter, I've got an HSBC account in London that I can get cash out via the hole in the wall in Auckland. You'll just need to do a decent Platinum to Monopoly Money conversion that's all.

And of-course Gly will have to find my punk ass too. /Banana.

Yup it's all done.... I can see Gly sitting in a Pub buying the rounds.....

Just kidding, thanks for all info folks, I decided to go the Western Union route after all as that way no one besides Gly has to go out of their way.

And of course my thanks to Gly for making the effort! If you ever make it over here, I will be buying the drinks!
