Seriously. I have been trying to sell my car for a lot less than it's worth, and noone will even LOOK at it for $6500.
I HAVE to sell it asap as i've already bought another car, tried trademe, bay trader, sellmefree.co.nz, tried MMC.co.nz, tried here.
I know it's a **** time to be selling a 2.5 Twin Turbo, but come on ! this is frustrating the bejesus out me !

sucks the big one doz'nt it...

i dont think the large used car market will ever be the same,

i think the tradme $1 reserve will be your best bet...
but at this point in time i think you'll be lucky to get 5500 for it.

I saw a program on TV3 last week and the guy had a pre-facelift VR-4 legnum and it was going to cost him $30,000 all up with the fimance paid back. He was lucky to get $8,000.

They are down from $25,000, just 3-4 years ago. Massive depreciation in just 3 years. I assume mine is woth about $6-8,000 now too.

We have the same issues here...

If the car was stil in production, you would not have this problem but the public see it as a old car now!

It's affecting all cars, especially bigger ones. Look how much depreciation there has been on BA XR6s, I saw a 2004 with 90,000kms for $16,500. $35,000 depreciation in 2 years!

Good time to be a car buyer I guess.

yeah I've noticed there are a lot that just sit there forever and ever. I guess some people just can't afford to let them go for anything less.

All the more reason to keep onto it! :D

I paid a metric ****load for mine not that long ago, and I plan on keeping it for awhile yet.

I don't ever envision myself getting sick of it.

Yeah, I read about this about a month back in the herald. One dealer actually made the statement that he might actually make more money 'deporting' cars back to Japan.

Ah, dug the article up: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/category/story.cfm?c_id=65&objectid=10392494

Luckily mine's still off the road, and I bought mine for $4500 anyway (I still lost a fair bob on crashing Mary-Kate though).

But I'm definately not going to recoup anywhere near what I first thought three months ago when I bought Ashley.

Ah well. **** happens.

Hmmm, thats bad news, if they depreciate any more, theyl probably be worth more as parts/dunce

On the bright side, i think i can safely lower my insured amount...

how do you get in touch with the second to top bidder ?

Didn't I see an e-mail address with a request for more pictures in the "questions". section? If so that's the first place to start..................but failing that, try asking TradeMe for the under bidders contact details after telling them what's happened. They should be able to help.

Good luck.

Yeah talk to trademe, they might be able to help you

Can't you just make an offer to all interested bidders on your auction ?
If it's fallen through Trademe might have to do something clever to allow it happen maybe but that way you get to all parties who checked it out previously.

And yeah, bumma re the price drop, I still owe more than it is currently worth and I only bought it last November ... but it ain't going anywhere cos it's WAY too much fun to drive. One of the few cars where it is just fun to go just for a drive ( at 120kph plus round corners )

Did I say that aloud ?

Nah ..!!
