Starting with the practice laps... all the cars looked really good but boy did they kick up a lot of dust...
12203
This galant is the 'twin' of the CLUB VR4 car - virtually identical paint job , it looked very quick as well with AWD and 4WS
12204
After 10 mins I am covered in dust... there was a strong wind blowing it everywhere...
12205
Out with the water.... to damp the dust down and liven things up a bit
12206
There is a Colt somewhere under the carpet!!
12207
This Starion starts the day as it means to go on... later on in the race it managed to spin at the same spot 3 laps on the trot - it was like watching groundhog day
12208
Club VR4 car getting a few practice laps under its belt...
12209
Qualifying times.... Oh dear, near the back of the grid...
12210
After a rolling start Nick Mann starts picking his way through the field

As the laps tick by Nick gets higher up the field
12212
... and higher
12213
... and higher
12214
with 19 cars on such a small oval the racing was pretty close...
12215
12216
After the first stint Nick had dragged the car up to 5th....
12217
awaiting the restart after the water tractor had been deployed....
12218
.... Turned out be be a short stint for Dave? as all the mud thrown up on the screen meant he had to make an unscheduled stop to get it cleaned...
12219
But the boys dragged themselves back up to 6th

The 19 car had been hitting anything that got in its way and was already looking the worse for wear....
12221
...and it was beginning to show...
12222
The Pole sitter was also out early on....
12223
ooops, this could be very bad.... look who's bearing down on this pile up...
12224
But some very skillfull driving saved the day...
12225
Wonder which car the white Starion has been trading paint with??
12226
Car 19 really struggling with (self inflicted) damage...
12227
Everythings looking rosy for CLUB VR4 - even the sun comes out.........
12228
The next action I missed with the camera as I went back to the car and was eating a sandwich through gritted teeth... not because the Mrs makes bad sandwiches... but my teeth were full of, er, grit..
But someone nerfed Dave and he ended up beached on a tyre
12229
... and could only sit there helpless while the laps ticked away

The support vehicle arrives to pull the car off the tyre...
12231
.. but its stuck... lets try if from the front then...
12232
... its still stuck... so they just drag the whole lot back to the pits... Bad news as CLUB VR4 loose more laps..
12233
12234
Back out on track the boys bring it home to the Chequred Flag with no more drama...
12235
Unlike this unlucky car , with 10 mins to go it decides it doesn't want to keep its wheel nuts....
12236
The Final Standings... a very good effort indeed!!!
12237
The aftermath
12238
12239
Club VR4 car back on the trailer... suprisingly good condtion, unlike most cars there it looked like it could have done it again - just pop a new front left on and its good to go??
