None is moving or touching it and just out of the blue, sometimes my car alarm just goes off. I have the standard alarm on my V6 Sport. Does anyone know why this is the case? or is it messed up?

Mine is occassionally tripped by heavy rain, and I think Nick Mann had a problem when his seatbelt didn't return when he got out of the car - only to trigger the alarm later when it did decide to recoil.

Two ideas for you I bet there are many more.

Rain used to trip my GLS too. Maybe related?

Not sure how the standard alarm is triggered, but the usual thing with volumetric sensors is to make sure all the vents are closed on the heating/ventilation system. With the intrusion detector you have to make sure there is nothing metal between the sensor and the outer shell of the car.
