View Full Version : 6a13tt + 4spd triptronic (4wd)?
just wondering if this would work??
how much abuse can the 4 speed 4wd triptronic box handle??
any ideas on how to make it stonger??
it would make my v6 to vr4 conversion a bit easier if i decide to do it...
i would eventually get a a manual...
but i dont think i could afford it all in one go.

I may be wrong, but isn't the 4 speed autobox the same as the one in the Diamante's and Magna's? Those cars make decent amounts of horsepower ~240PS, so it should be up-to the task.

Actually thats not true, facelift 2.4 gdi's came with a 5 speed box.
I think that if you drive it carefully you may be lucky and it will last, just try and save up for a new box :)

But Andys has made something different :o FWD Twin Turbo !
This conversion would make nearly a VR4 with no Extra Benefits ?

I think its just because its easier to swap the engine, than buy a vr4 (with no service history) and swap all the stereo, bodykit, interior extras, etc.. Plus itd be more fun:P

The only feasable answer that makes any sanity out of doing this conversion is /Hmmm

Cos he wants to :d
Any other reason is just NUTZ :P
coz i want to,
and i dont wanna buy another car....
the only green manual vr4 i have seen is at a dealer, for 13000k
(i wouldnt consider another triptronic or another colour)
its a year older than my car.
and its due of it 100k service.
and its stock and boring looking.
oh and i would do the conversion with a single turbo.
so more interesting, and cheaper,
