No, but is it worth a second opinion? Someone once told me my Fiat had a leaking head gasket when in fact it was the rocker box gasket (a half hour job costing about £5 for a new gasket).

Rang Mitsi dealer on Friday just for a rough quote, first they wanted to know all details of car etc, but i said i wasn't sure other than it was a 2.4 GDI, after a while he returned and said it was a 5 hour job ,about £100.00 for parts and total about £500.00. so we will see on Wednesday.

Well just got car back, oil leak fixed, and guess what, it was not the head gasket, it was the BIT under the rocker cover, all had to come off though quite a big job, they cleaned it and resealed itand while it was in bits they cleaned the lash adjusters so i now have a PETROL car again, wants it back in 500 miles for a flush and oil change, i am one happy bunny, oh yes cost was £200.00.

did that cost you £200 to get refitted or was there other work involved?

seems a bit steep just to remove and refit the rocker covers and gasket......

Engine flush, oil filter, and new oil, and clean lash adjusters so it is running very quietly now( petrol engine again).
