AAAGGGHHH!! Number plate light

Can someone please tell me how to change the number plate light on a Galant Sport V6 (Saloon 2000 X reg)??? The manual shows a different configuration to the back of my car.

I am guessing this is not the first time you've had this question given other comments around the forum??? But I haven't found the answer yet.

Spent 3 hours trying to do the last one ahead of my MOT. Gave up and paid them to do it. Now the other ones gone so I have to try again!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

cany remember but i mind changing both mine. take the lining off the boot and then u cany really miss them a think.

If its the same as mines it should be easy. I got a Galant Elegance V6 Saloon 2003 so should be the same. All u gotta do is undo the star screw on both the covers and then slide/pull the light covers off. Its quite hard at first but it will come off. Then change the bulbs and dealt with..

Be grateful you dont have a wagon. One of the screws that attached the numberplate light lenses siezed. I had to strip out the boot from the inside to get at the buggers. 5min job that ended up taking 2 hours /grr
